hi jazzyfromnj...i do like rachael ray, but i just love rosie o'donnell...i think she would be proud to hear about this forum...i think she may have had a hysterectomy (not sure)...she has mentioned that she couldn't have biological kids. i admire her so much as a mom and as a human being...she is humble and not perfect!! i love her passion...not everyone will agree with her but she does have compassion for others.

i think a reunion would be a great idea. for me it will be awhile before i travel as i still have to go thru chemo, but count me in!

i hope we can get miette back to posting...i wonder how she's doing? happy easter everyone!

I'm checking in too. I usually post out on the open forum, but will start posting here so I can get to know everyone who shares my week with me. I'll post more later because right now I am not feeling well at all. Been nauseated and vomiting all day. Bleh.

Hey there ladies..

Things are winding down this evening...spent most of the day freezing because our heater was broken. Hubby got it working finally and I am starting to thaw out. Its a relatively new home so I am not sure what was going on...I just know hubby was running around beating on hhus chest like an Ape shouting that he had sucessfully completed another Man-Task

I took it easy today since I did way too much on Thursday (sweeping and cleaning dog poop in the backyard), and then co-hosted a HOA meeting at our house. My husband actually did all the meeting work, but it kept me from my usual early bedtime. On Friday, I was exhausted, which I hadn't felt in many days and ended upo taking a HUGE power nap in the late afternoon. I was out cold...you know...one of the those naps where you just can't wake up from and when you do it takes an hour or so to figure out where you are???!!! I guess I got a little bit cocky and tried to push it, so easy does for the rest of the weekend. I even decided to take another week off work...I need more time to mentally and physically heal. I just have a hard time getting ocer the guilt of not going to work, even though I don't have to...I was one of those geeks that never missed a day of school. Old habits...

I read the other Post-Op thread earlier today before this was created, so I am going to try my best and remember who I wanted to reply to and hope they eventually find their way this way. I don't have time right now to re-read.

Superwife: Your problems with discharge are very similar to mine. I spent a lot of time (actually for the first time) today reading the entire HysterSisters site. If you look at the 3-4 week checkpoint area, you will see that what we are experiencing is normal. It also confirmed for me that I need to take my activity down a notch. I hope this helps!

Jane: This is certainly not medical advice, but have you had a RBC test done for anemia? I had a DVT (blood clot) last year and was placed on Coumadin therapy for 8 months. My period were bad enough let alone adding blood thinners into the mix. IT was nasty. Anyway, I got to the point where I was barely able to get out of bed, barely able to get a couple of sentances together, had a huge loss of short-term memory and talked like I had a few drinks (slurring). My Dr. thought is was a side affect of the Coumadin. After constant complaining, she did a red blood cell count in her office and found out I was severly anemic. I was advised to take iron pills, which worked wonderfully. It was a simple as that. That may not be the case with you and you are just healing, but I thought I'd pass that along since I suffered for 4 months not knowing why I wanted to sleep ALL the time.

Also, ( I forgot who asked me...sorry) but I love all kinds of wine and enjoy pairing it with food. My absolute favorite is Pinot Noir, but I also love a great Sav Blanc with Chilean Sea Bass. Last nite, I opened a 2003 Napa Valley Cab Sav (Sequoia Grove) and was blown away. It went great with the shis-kebab our friends made for us and it also stood nicely on its own without pairing it with anything. My Hubby is a fan of whites ( Pinot Grigio/Gris, Sav Blanc, Chard, etc) since reds give him heartburn on most occassions. Our wine group who are really fun and completely unpretentious) like to make fun of him anyway for drinking white, but he handles it well

Anyway, I am still sore on my left side and I am having this wierd pain twinge on the inside of the right butt cheek...I hope its due to the fact that I did a lot sitting today...afterall tax day here in the U.S. is quickly approaching.

Good nite ladies..see you in the A.M.

Hi (((((sisters)))) I'm so happy that you formed such a bond And I'm glad that you've got this new thread where you can get to know each other beyong the hyst recovery

Just a reminder: this thread really should be chit-chat and non-hyst-related issues. Any issues should still be posted in Post-Op, preferably as individual threads, in order to ensure that it will be seen by all members: sometimes we need to hear from those who have been there and have reached another phase of recovery

I hope you continue to enjoy your relationship as well as this wonderful site

I wanted to post sooner but I had a slight setback. I somehow managed to run into the car door when it was opened. OUCH! I just turned around and wasn't paying attention. Anyway, all is well and a BIG thank you to Jazzy for starting this thread.

OMG girls I think we have just been spanked again. I was going to check in after a day of feeling horrible. But I better not talk about that now. Kim I'm with you on running, back in Sept 2005, just before I strarted having all my issues, I ran my first half marithon. I love to run and can't wait to do it again. My DR has assured me that I will be out there again if I just give my body time to heal.
BTW I love Rachel Ray too she is so adorable and has great ideas. I'm not the best cook but I like to try. Speaking of cooks, I received my meal tonight from one of my coworkers (my office has arranged for me and my family to receive a meal every night until I return to work) Any way we got a delicous roast with potatoes and carrots and a tossed salad and chocolate cake. Yum Yum
After a morning of aching I feel better tonight. Good to hear from all my sisters. Bueno Bye!

According to your info you are in Georgia (have family over your way ), I read online just a few days ago that the SouthEast has broken some major records in the amount of pollen this season.
