hello hello!

Hi Sisters!!

Just wanted to say:

Rabbit: you're gorgeous and so are your dogs!

Distracted: so glad to see you here. I had my surgery on the nineteenth but I'm slow to recover so you and I can hobble around together, if you want! '

Becky: can you describe what your drapes look like? During the summer, DH and I plan to redo the entire first floor of our house and I will need new window treatments. I would love to see what you like.

About a reunion...ooo..that would be so fun! I would love to meet you girls and if we get to go to the Oprah Show, that would be fun too. I totally agree that hystersisters is something a lot of women worldwide would be interested in.

Anybody having weird cravings? I have been craving red onions, green olives, chocolate (of course), and pancakes with maple syrup...not all at once, but maybe it's the hormone thing??

Hugs,
-Miette

*~*~CONGRATS 3 Weekers*~*~!!!

It's been awhile since I've updated my progress, I am 2 weeks, 3 days post-op....I have to say that I have been doing very well...I stopped taking any pain meds after 1 week post-op...I am doing pretty much all the pre-op things...but taking care not to lift, vaccum etc...all the no no's...I still have the bladder infection type feeling after peeing...it goes away quickly though...and my right side has been causing me some discomfort, which I assume is from the ovary that remained...I have just started to sleep on my sides...it's taking some getting used to...I am soooo a side and tummy sleeper, and have been pushing the envelope in that area...I have not experienced any discharge/bleeding, and so far the incision is healing really nicely....I use polysporin...love that stuff!

Well I guess thats it...I feel a bit guilty posting about how great things are going with me, when some of you are dealing with other issues and pain...everyone here is always in my thoughts and prayers... soon we will all be feeling awesome, and ready for that reunion

"Edited" to add...that I had sore boobies at the beginning of the 2nd week post-op...I beleive that was when I was due for my next period...soooo wierd not to have to worry about that any longer

so glad you made it jen....I here you about the exercise, I've been ready for at least a year...with everything going on before the surgery, I was unable to do the things I wanted to....now it's time to take my body and mind back...glad to hear your pain has subsided some!

Miette: Glad to hear you got out for a walk. I set walking as a goal for my recovery, hoping to increase each day. When I woke up this morning, I wasn't feeling very well (incision still pulling and dull ache in the vagina area). But I took my shower and felt a bit better afterwards.
Went for walk (half-hour slowly) I have a pedometer which measures how many steps I take (ideal target is 10,000 per day when in good health.)
Anyway I'm up to 3800 today so far. I also use my CD Walkman and get to listen to my favourite music. Makes the walk more pleasant.
Take care of yourself.
To everyone: I had a question about surgical strips so I created a new thread in the post-up discussions (not within our 3/19/-3/26 group) This appears as a separate topic so others outside our group can see) and I have already had 2 replies from sisters further along the recovery path)
When you create a new thread like that it appears on the first page when you click on post-up discussions. When someone responds to your specific question, you get an email notification which you know specifically pertains to your question.

Thanks to everyone for all the great photos. You are all such beauties! I'll have to check out the website too.
Hats off to all of you with young families. My DD's are grown and honestly I am spending most of my time catching up on all the latest from my HysterSisters. Oh well, no time or energy for heavy lifting!!
Count me in for the Oprah reunion ( I like Rachel Ray too)

dear angelic...no need for you to feel guilty about feeling better when others are healing more slowly. if anything, it gives us all hope to know that we will recuperate from the surgery eventually. we've all had good days and bad days, taken a step forward and then 2 steps back. seeing those before us getting better is inspiration.

keep improving and remember to still be cautious and not overdo it as you are feeling so much better.

Hey, ya'll! Should I write Oprah or what? I think she'd love to hear about the sight and I personally think that the makeover angle might get us in! Although seeing pics of Becky and Rabbitt you guys don't need it as badly as I do!! Love the pictures..you're both gorgeous! I just feel dumpy since the surgery.....have not had the energy or desire to get it all together.

DH is driving me crazy. I swear he has ADD. The day I got home from the hospital he sold the TV (IN my bedroom) because he thought I needed a HD flat screen set. And for the past three days he's been working on a deal to trade in MY car. I personally think it's this NO sex thing that has him all in a tizzy. He asks me all these questions about the kind of TV and the car and does he not realize I have BRAIN fog????? GGGRRR.
I barely know what day it is, I haven't paid a bill in two weeks, I can't concentrate to read a book anymore and I'm supposed to be thinking TV and car....my oh my.

Sorry for the rant laddies but I do feel better.

I definitely have had those two steps back days recently. Middle of last week was MUCH better than the weekend. Today is okay and hearing my sisters remind me that this is only the half way point puts things into perspective. Problem is when I do feel relatively okay and do something like clean up or want to go out to eat, DH thinks I am suddenly cured! Got to be careful with that. Anybody else feel guilty about what you aren't doing though? Like yesterday there was no way I was going to make it to sunrise service (7am). Just takes me a lot longer to get moving in am. Well, Pastor just called and he's on his way to give me communion here at home. I feel like I need to look really pitiful when he gets here. I have been out to eat and to my sister's for Easter. Gone to Walmart a couple of times (Used the motorized cart everytime!)

Someone yesterday mentioned writing a list of things they wanted to do before they died. I started my list last night and really took some time to reflect. It did kind of help me put the here and now into prespective.
