the 3rd. Driving, cooking, laundry, cleaning etc.... albeit slower than I normally go. If I don't do it no one will!

Distracted1, you are not far behind! I had an abdominal hysterectomy (kept cervix & ovaries) 3 weeks post-partum due to excessive bleeding. I have not really done any housework and am considering getting a maid service. Don't try to rush your healing process otherwise you will risk hurting yourself, believe me I tried to do stuff my 2nd week post-op & regreted it! Now if laundry needs to be done I turn the knobs & my 10 yr old daughter loads the washer. Get as much help as you can so you can focus on healing & being pampered, the way every princess should!
:hugs to you.
Take Care,

georgiascuba23, I also had a cyst removed from my right ovary. I can't say I've had any true s but I'm definitely feeling the cold.

Good for you to get a maid service! If the toughest thing you've done in the past few weeks is sign a check, more power to ya! I'd feel the same way.........thankfully BF and DS have been my maids! They do laundry, food shop (though now I go and they carry the bags), vacuum. It just doesn't get any better then this!

Feeling very tired tonight. Going to bed in a few. All in all I'd say I had a very good day. No real pain, just dull aches and still having the heaviness/pressure when I pee, though I believe that's letting up a bit.

Sweet dreams to all my sisters! 's Paula

Well count me in for the talk show. Ok, maybe a reunion at least.. This really is an amazing site and my dh is getting to know you all because I'm always telling him about whats going on in here (well maybe not ALL of it ).

I've had to heat pack my dog's belly today where her incision is infected. Fortunately she's such a good girl, so she just lays there and takes it.

I'm pooped. I spent about five hours in front of the computer balancing the checkbook, reconciling credit card statements, paying bills and filing. I hadn't touched the bookwork in over three weeks and I really was clueless where we were even at in our personal accounts. So at least that is done. But I think I'll go to bed a little earlier tonight. I am fortunate that I don't have problems sleeping, so where last night was a bad night with the weird dreams, it totally wiped me out today.

By the way, does any one else seem to have a case of dyslexia while typing since surgery? Seems like I spend all my time hitting the backspace key to correct the mixed up letters I type.

Sleep well, dear friends.

Nogreatmischief,Distracted1,Jazzy,Becky,et al: Im in! I think that women everywhere would be interested in this. I know the people that I've told about HysterSisters have been very impressed that there is such a thing and the women who have already had hyst. either yrs ago or recently, have commented on how they wish they had know about it.

Becky, I've been wondering about your sweet dog I hope she feels better soon. Oh btw, yes I tend to be more on the dyslexic side than I was prior to surg. Wonder whats up with that? You'd think that I had surgery on my brain instead of my belly.
Night Night Sisters!

hi everyone...i'm still up late once again, waiting to take my pain meds, etc. don't want to take them too soon after the 8:00 meds even though it probably wouldn't hurt!

i have become aware of something unusual that's happened to me since my surgeries. for approx. the last 8 or 10 yrs. (can't remember when it first started) i have had this embarrassing condition (post nasal drip) which resulted in my excessive throat clearing. i remember when it first started, it seemed to happen in the mornings, so i thought it was something occurring during the night that had to be "coughed up" in the morning. over the years it got worse to the point where friends were mentioning it to me and i had to try my best to stifle it. funny enough, though, i could sit thru live theatre if i had to. my husband also had it but not nearly as bad. he would usually get it after eating certain foods...we thought it might be from msg or just the cheap take-out foods, but it would happen at home also. i especially had it just as i would lay down to go to bed, keeping my poor husband awake, so i got into my old habit of going to bed very late (after midnight) so he could get to sleep.

i only sought medical advice for this just prior to this hysterectomy issue, so i never had a chance to use this spray medication the dr. prescribed. anyways, since the surgeries, i have not had this post-nasal drip problem anymore (well maybe just a little). i wonder if it has to do with me cutting out certain foods, although i'm eating everything healthy that i always ate...have had no craving for sweets, greasy or unhealthy foods...also lost 20 lbs. or maybe they sucked a lot of stuff out of me during the surgery...lol.

also i had a very achy wrist for a couple of months prior to my first surgery on feb. 19. it might have been from the yoga pose (downward dog)...it was difficult holding that pose for so long as i have small wrists and probably weak! anyways, that pain is gone also...it was gone immediately after the surgery. well, that could be due to the fact i'm not doing the downward dog anymore, combined with all the painkillers i've been taking!

just wondering if anyone else had experienced anything like this. goodnight all.

Sorry, ladies. I can't take the credit for creating this wonderful website. That honor belongs to Kathy Kelley. Scroll down about half way on this page to read how this website came to be.

nogreatmischief, it's kinda funny because I've developed a major runny nose since my surgery! I've been attributing mine to the pollen since we've had very high levels of the stuff this year.

You mentioned having no cravings. I had no appetite until Saturday - that was the first day anything tasted good. I guess I'm making up for lost time because I've been grazing all day long (eating popcorn as I'm typing this!).

Just a quick hello since my computer crashed this morning and I had to wait to use hubby's computer. I had a relatively boring and pain free day...getting a little resltess though.

I'm all for a reunion and Oprah or both! Let me know how I can help.

And, I love Dancing with the Stars and American Idol...that's when I'm not watching the Food Network I like Apollo and Joey Fatone and I think that Clyde needs to go next. I don't like his attitude.

Sorry this is so quick, will check in in the a.m.
