jhdh, I think you beat me by a thousand ha ha.

I have to say, I really cannot remember the pain from my myomectomy so long ago but I know I totally freaked out when they were prepping me. I almost ran like the run-away-bride.

I think it'll be good once I am in there and calmed down. I am really just totally freaked about that morning. I know the recovery part is doable.

Any May sisters out there?

May 15 for me, getting increasingly worried about post-surgery. Will I get fat, old, and gray immediately? Will I ever enjoy making love to my husband again? Will it change my whole personality?

Any May sisters out there?

I just thought I'd put in my worth. I've been doing the whole freak about the fact that someone will be cutting into me, will I have a normal sex life, will I ever get back to what I was before I was sick? Then I remind myself that if I keep thinking what if and have all these horrible thoughts running around in my head, then I'm more likely to make them happen, or even just cause myself to think they are happening. So think positive, don't think about the scary stuff and think about how awesome it will be to not have pain, no energy or depression anymore. That's my version of a pep talk. Hope it helps. Now I just have to use it on me!

ann, just think 29 more days for us, but who's counting? I'm going crazy waiting. Now have urogyn's preop to stew over, he found a lot more than he thought and said we'd discuss it at preop. I think I'm more afraid of the length of the surgery than anything! I know it's silly since I'll be asleep, but I had such a horrid time when I had my ovary taken out! I really have to start to shop, I have toiletries, but need the granny panties and nighties and a robe! Any ideas from you all on books or dvd's? I like the Oprah one and the Thorn BIrds!

I decided to heck with the "granny panties!"

I'm going out and buying myself some thongs! It will be nice not needing a place to put those gosh darn super maxi's! I've earned this!

Any May sisters out there?

Hi girls! I am 33 years old and will be having my hyst on May 22. I am scared but I am ready to get it over with! I am trying to loose some weight between now and then. I also have a lot to do around the house before then so I hope to keep busy. My husband bought me the deluxe princess package from this web site and I started reading the book and decided to come check out the message boards. I am sorry we are all having to go through this but going through it together might help us cope.

Diverchick, funny you are counting. It just gave me an idea. What are 29 things we can do for oursleves to make this a great experience or to pamper oursleves. Each days lets do something nice for ourselves until our castle vacation.

One thing I can recommend is bring earplugs to the castle. I had someone bring me some the last time so I could sleep and it made a huge difference.

I have begun to fantasize about when I come home. I am laying there with a feeling of complete relief and comfort, feeling like my stomach is finally empty of a huge painful mass. I imagine easily going to the bathroom and breathing without constant pressure on my diaphram. I see myself walking and sitting without feeling completely bound up. I am imagining having the energy I did at 20 years old and the desire to constantly be doing something versus laying down rubbing my stomach.

Yes, I am really looking forward to my dreams coming true. I realy can't wait.
