stupid things people say...

Some of the stupid things or things that made me feel worse were the following and by women.

Wow, no more periods i'd love that!
It's one less thing you'll have to worry about...i'm assuming they meant pregnancy and periods?
Well at least you have two healthy children (Do they think i'm not greatful for that)?
Oh my goodness you are so young!!!! You shouldn't do it, your gonna want more kids when your biological clock kicks in. (yes, want more kids..this isn't surgery to keep from getting pregnant! DAH!)
And finally. Weren't you thinking about not having more kids anyway? (Maybe off on and on but that really isn't the point, and this is a done deal when it's done and I didn't choose this pain!)
It would be nice if people acted like my heart shoud be breaking because it is, instead they act as if I won the period free lottery and should be dancing.

I had a bad experience with a co-worker. She spread nasty rumours of how sick I was while I was home recovering. Sooo annoying! I'm in a high school and we have certain rules of behaviour. When I returned, I asked my supervisor for her advice. To make a long story short, the co-worker was told to "play nice" or she could be fired. I'm not talking to her any longer, but she's being cheerful and bubbly, saying Have a good weekend, Cindy! and she's like sooooo annoying cuz she thinks she's an expert on everything!!! Grr-rr-r. She had her hyst a few months before me, everything out b/c of cancer concerns. We were close then. Mine was easy-peezy according to my doc, which was great for me, I had no reason to worry

I don't do well with worry or details, and didn't ask many questions. Long story short, I grew a set of balls and dumped the witch.

I have a question too. How do I get along with this witch when she acts like the captain of the Good Ship Lollipop???

Ok, so today my best friend and I were talking...I was telling her about shopping with another friend for a new purse, and how I found myself checking the inside pockets to see if they had enough room for supplies.... Duh, I won't have to ever worry about that again( 11 days and counting!) And she said" so you're never going to have a period again?

Duh!!!! Would't that be the point of having a hysterectomy for heavy bleeding, anemia, pain etc?!!!!

Sheesh.

I tell her Mom, it's not cancer, the biopsy said so, and I'm not bleeding (and she says "Are you sure?" Am I sure I'm not bleeding? Oh, I should THINK I would notice that, MOM!) and I'm not really in pain, just sore and tired. Besides we need the time to get the house ready and pay the first round of bills.

You know, when my sister was pregnant the last time, she told Mom she wasn't going to talk to her until the baby was born.

Not a terrible idea...
I think a great ringtone would be "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne.

Hey! How about that oldie "Easy to Be Hard" by Three dog Night? (It was actually in "Hair", the first musical w/ a nude scene. ) Remember it? "How can people be so heartless?"
"Dark Side of the Moon" Pink Floyd? "Stupid Girl" Rolling Stones?

I'm sorry; I don't want to call your mother "stupid". Now you've got me thinking of ringtones......

I have a few......

"You're too young to have hot flashes!" I always think...."and I was too young for a hysterectomy." (I was 36 years old when I had my surgery.)

Co-workers, all of which know I had a hysterectomy, will ask if I have a tampon or pad with me.

And.... "You're so lucky! You don't have to deal with having a period anymore."

The one and only time I complained to my MIL about my heavy periods she says, "having a period just proves you're a woman"

I thought, "Here's your sign"

My girlfriend of 15 years... 2 days after my hysterectomy - came over to keep me company...
She actually asked me if I wanted to watch Birth Stories with her!!!
Then she proceeded to lie down on my couch and fall asleep while we were watching a video.
I woke her up and kicked her out so I could go lie down!
