I got moody with my husband yesterday, and didn't really know why. Finally I snapped at him and asked him why can he have kids when I can't. ((silly I know)) and he very meekly replied 'I can get a vasectomy if you want...'

My dh and I both work in a hospital. If one more person tells my dh how they were out and about within 2 days I'm going to scream. He comes straight to me and tells me how easy "Jane" had it and how "Mary" went shopping the next day. Now he is going to think I'm the biggest baby ever if I'm not up the day after coming home!

That's just crazy, Jessie! Out and about in 2 days ... I stayed in the hospital 2 nights. Gee, 2 days after surgery, I just felt fortunate to go the bathroom and wondered if I would ever poop again. Shopping ... get real! I don't go out much even now after 4 weeks.

I wonder how these 2 day wonders are doing in a few weeks. I realize there are different types of hyst and that might make a difference.

Healing is important and though I'm doing well, healing takes time and patience.

Jessie,
I had a tah and I was still in the hospital at 2 days. These ladies that told you're husband this obviously aren't telling the truth. They must still be on some kind of pain meds, and not thinking clearly at all!!! I take that back after my surgeries I was on morphin and I still thought more clearly than that. Oh, that just makes me so mad. Just tell your hubby to ask the dr. and he will tell him it takes 6 weeks or more. Then you still can't over due things.......... Good luck!!!

Thanks so much ladies!!! I am so glad to have found this site. I'm making my husband look over it also. All I hear in RL are either horror stories or stories of how they recovered in no time. Its so nice to read stories of what we really go through. Thanks again to all the wonderful ladies here.

Today I stayed home while DH attended parent/teacher conferences and a school presentation lasting 5 hours. A friend (who knows about my TAH) asked him why I wasn't there and he explained that at 2 weeks post-op, I wasn't up to sitting in folding chairs for most of those 5 hours. Her response was, "Well, I have a hard time sitting that long, too, so I don't see why....never mind".

When I found out it was a fibroid, a friend suggested a pool to determine the size. Well I told a co-worker his suggestion she said one better"Lets have a pool to name it"
When I told another co-worker I was going to be out to have a fibroid removed her response "So does that mean you will have a tummy tuck done as well" I had to walk away from here at that point.
