stupid things people say...

I guess I would just be very direct with the principal and tell her or him to knock it off! I told people about my surgery, and I told them how VERY HAPPY I was to have it, I really felt like I'd won the lottery, so no one had a chance to feel sorry for me. I know it's not easy when you live in a small town and everyone wants to know your business. Sometimes we need to give people the benefit of the doubt.

julz121 - I am so sorry to hear about you being hit by a car. That is terrible. I can't believe the lady was not even apologetic. I should not be surprised. I was in a car accident many, many years ago - 2 girls ran a stop sign and smashed into the car I was in. They knew that the jaws of life had to be used to get me out of the car - I had 2 broken ribs, 2 broken collar bones and a sprained neck. This girl which was her fault got a cut on her head was right by me and also did not care about what she had done. She was asking her girlfriend if her cut would leave a scar knowing I was laying there and could not move.
So again, I am so sorry and hope you feel better soon.

Why does everyone think it's appropriate to ask what type of surgery someone is having - You mention the H word and they freak out. The worst so far has been:

"I'm so jealous - you won't have to have a period ever again"

or

"You're not old enough to have hot flashes"

Let's face it ladies at 30 I'd still like to have period and maybe have a child - instead we get to look forward to hotflashes, night sweats, and mood swings. We lucked out!

hello sisters! Well... the police decided not to cite the women who mowed me down. And I met with an Atty so yes,we will be pressing charges. Doctor to check me over for anything post op. Still sore but getting better every day.
How long does the soreness take to dissolve? Its been almost 6wks. But I am glad I can go to the bathroom on my own without nature's help so to speak. I know that was gross--- but hey---we are all on the titantic together right?

well, back to my coffee and today show.I'll write more lada.
Thanks sisters....hugs to you all...

Can you believe that they won't press charges. I guess you'd have to be seriously injured then they would have.

stupid things people say!

Hi! Wondering if anyone else is collecting stupid things people say!

I had a co-worker who is out on materntiy leave for having a c-section tell me how much easier the hysterectomy would be than her operation because i wouldnt have to lug around a baby or get up to feed them (yes, thanks, i always wanted children.)

My sister who also has fibroids -- but NO PAIN! -- said, she would never get a hysterectomy because she just loves those deep uterine contractions during orgasm. (yes, thanks, me too.) Also added i should just count myself lucky i dont have cancer. (I do, but still expected just a bit of sympathy...) anyone have their two cents?
