Supra-pubic Catheter Removal ?

Wednesday during my pre-op for my LAVH, A&P Repairs, possible BSO,and TVT or TOT my DR mentioned the possibilty I might come home with a subra-pubic catheter. Now two days later, I thinking how you remove a subra-pubic catheter ? Do you have sitches or something to plug where the catheter was ?
Anybody had experience ?

I had a subra-pubic catheter. It wasn't too bad--in fact I liked better than the other kind. Most people go into the doctor to have it removed, but the M.Cl. had me remove it myself. It was really weird to pull it out on my own. After removal, a bandage is put over the opening and your bladder, etc heals with no stitches or plug.

I also had a supra-pubic catheter, I went to the doctor office and they used a needle to remove the saline (just like the foley) and it came out with a little bump in it, but it wasn't too bad. I had a little bit of oozing for a couple of days, but that was it. Good Luck with your surgery.
