Just realized how much pain I was in..

I am so amazed I think I just realized how much pain I really was in prior to surgery. I was on Duladid for 2 weeks before my surgery do to horrid pelvic pain, was actually in ED and they kept me over night to have surgery the next day but my doc could not do it and gave me the option to have some one eles do it or wait 2 weeks. I opted to wait 2 weeks since he had done 3 prior surgeries and I trused him. So he placed me on the big guns to make it until surgery...well it took the edge off the pain but did not make me pain free by any means and kept me wide awake...made for a long 2 weeks. He said I could take this after the surgery but I said I would rather have lortab if he thought that would control the pain post-op. No need for the big guns if I did not have to take them plus I knew the lortab usually made me tired and the duladid keep me awake. Well tonight I needed to take a pain pill from overdoing it and since I only had a few lortabs left I decided to take one of the duladid. OMG I feel so "high" (not much on the high/drunk feeling), definately no pain, and it has made me tired. It just goes to show how much pain I must have been in before the surgery for the medicine to have what I thought was little to no effect on me and now knocking me on my booty.

Just realized how much pain I was in..

I hear ya on that one!!! I had my surgery on Friday, and I already feel sooo much better than I did before surgery. I was in so much pain that I felt like I needed pain medication all the time just to be comfortable ( it didn't take the pain away completely, but made it tolerable). Right now, all I need is my Mortrin. I can't believe how quickly I started to feel better.

Just realized how much pain I was in..

I know just what you mean. I too was in so much pain prior to surgery. The recovery has been so easy. All I take is Motrin two times a day. The only discomfort i have is from the incision on my tummy. I am not doing anything I am not suppose to do. I want to heal right. I have the help from DH and Family once DH goes back to work. Can't wait to be 100% again..
Hugs to everyone!!
