jayhawk, Thank you for thinking of me. As far as the stones go I have to go see family doc. He'll decide. I imagine I have to let them pass on my own. I am so done with this. Haven't decided if I will try to return to work tomorrow or not...

KK87, what's going on with you? What is still hurting? Let us know!

General update:

My week was OK. I worked M-W-Th, basically, and was quite tired the other 2 days. This coming week I work M-W-F and then board a bus for a ten hour ride from Minneapolis to Detroit (ooh, I know you are all jealous-not!)for DS's hockey tournament. I did have the option to fly, but chose not to b/c of cost ($400/person) and the strenuous nature of going through two airports with baggage in one day. My mom is worried about me riding a bus for ten hours (one of those nice buses), but flying seemed like more work to me.

Beyond being tired, my biggest complaints are keeping swelling down. The best trick for me is my Swelly Belly, ibuprofen and four glasses of iced green tea a day. The Advil is still causing me mild rashes, but I'm managing it with a steroid cream. It's also causing elevated blood pressure, but the BP seems to get worse if I try to go off of it. ??? I'm sure I'll be off the Advil in another month and am watching for any further allergic reaction.

I was able to restart my weight loss plan last week, though I'm choosing to do it more slowly this second time around.

I kept having lower back pain, so I got a referral from my doctor for a PT evaluation. Oddly, the PT thinks I have a disc problem (her intuition), but I think its just from severely out of shape back and abdominal muscles. I am doing the exercises she prescribed. She also recommended that I keep up with my chiropractor. Looks like I won't be joining the women's hockey league for a few more weeks!

As far as resuming marital relations (always "loved" that term), my husband says it feels fine, but I think my vaginal canal has been shortened by a couple of inches. I didn't think to ask my surgeon about that and I assume I'll just get used to it. Anyone else notice that? Being tired (both of us) remains the biggest barrier, but there's nothing new about that.

All in all, my complaints are much fewer. I finally feel like normal is within reach.

How about everyone else?

That's what I was going to say, Jenn -- you beat me to it!

Irish -- all you need is a bikini and shiny cocktail dress... you're set! How's your incision? Are you ready for bikini season???

Have fun. Are you taking your laptop? If not, we might not hear from you for a while! Enjoy....

Normal is within reach, for sure.

I worked nearly the whole week last week (my 1st since surgery). Each day I was more and more tired at the end of the day. Left early Friday to get the house ready for a Saturday party - waaayyy overdid it cleaning, but it felt good to be moving again! And having fun again!

My biggest work complaint remains that my "focus and ability to multi-task" seem less than, somehow. I need them back and hope they return soon.

I was cleared for "marital relations" at 4 1/2 weeks but chose to wait to "do the deed" until I felt completely physically and mentally ready. Well, we resumed "better than normal" relations this weekend!

Hugs to all my healing sisters. Hope your recovery keeps progressing and you get better every day.

Hi,
I am soooo sorry to hear about your troubles. I know how frustrating it can be when WE know something is wrong but others tell us that everything "looks fine". Jenni, I hope you go back to the doctor, it sounds like an infection. Jayhawk, I hope that everything gets better for you at the doctor as well. You are both in my thoughts

Well Jenni, I am glad to hear that you found out what was wrong, I hope everything gets better soon. Lisa, I to am a teacher and I went back to work Thursday. Prior to that I was extremely anxious and worried. I couldn't sleep, was irritable etc. for a few days before returning. But, when I went back, it was almost as if my brain started functioning again, and I actually realized how much I missed being with people and students again! I can tell you though, I overdid it by having meetings after school and not getting home until 8:00 one night and 5:00 the next. I didn't do a thing Friday night and all Saturday!!! I hope that once you get back, you start to feel better. Just make sure to take it easy.
