Quick update,Home sweet home,today Friday 30th 11:00.

My surgery Tuesday March 27 th was a lavh, bso, anterior repair, and tot. My pre-op nurse was super very comforting. Surgery went well, nothing bad. I was not sick from the anesthesia. The pain was controlled with the pump for two days, then pills and now nothing. I am sore and ache a little, but not bad. I had great care. It is a great relief to be over the surgery and home.

More details later.

I had my TAH/BSO on wednesday morning. I was doing really good so they let me go home the next afternoon. All was well except for the pain (I didn't expect it to hurt this much) until this morning when I woke up with the stomach flu, grrrrr. Now I have a fever, I hurt all over and have been throwing up. I feel like I am going to die, I swear.

Of course calling the Dr didn't help at all. All they say is "it's the stomach flu, it's going around" and they won't give ya anything to help ya out. My 2yr old DS has had this bug since last Sunday and I feel so sorry for him.

I am resting alot and have people (mom, dad, dh) taking care of me.

Hope everyone else is doing good. Heres to a speedy recovery for all you ladies.

Ok, I waited and waited and waited for my 1st BM which had yet to happen despite taking a stool softner regularly and drinking senna tea 2 nights in a row (after consulting with doc). No luck, so I called the doc again today and was told to take milk of magnesia. FINALLY! It happened! And now I feel like crap (no pun intended). Cramps, nausea, achiness, etc... I sooo thought I'd feel better. I tried really hard not to strain so I wouldn't bust a stitch. I wonder what's up?

Hope everyone else is doing good. I think I'll go out to the message board and seek some insight...

Had my LSH on 3/26 at 7am, came home that night at about 8pm. They found more Endometreosis than anticipated so they had to take left ovary and tube and part of right tube. There was some on the right but they lasered that and hopefully it won't cause any problems, they didn't want to take both ovaries.

Feel pretty good, just pressure from the gas build up. I'm trying to do a couple 10 minute walks a day per docs instructions but each time I do I blow up like a balloon! Maybe I'm trying to do too much too soon. Been off all pain meds for 2 days so feel better in that respects. Glad to be on this side of it all.

Hi Sisters,
My TAH/LSO was on Tuesday (3/27), and I went home on Friday. My stay was extended by one day due to a fever, but that's all done. I was walking within a few hours of the surgery, and was doing laps in the hallway the next day. My pain is minimal, but I do feel a funny pulling sensation when I first stand up. I find that when I stand up straight, and roll my shoulders back, sticking out my chest, I feel a whole lot better. Walking definitely helps with the gas (you know what I mean), and all of that fruit and fiber in the hospital finally paid off when I got home yesterday (again, you know what I mean!)

DH has been a trooper. The fold-out bed in my room was so horrible, that he put the mattress on the floor, and slept like that for 3 nights (and then had to teach science to middle and high schoolers during the day). No wonder he slept 10 hours today!!

I really am surprised by how good I feel, and I do understand why women think that they can get back to their old routine sooner than recommended. I am not going to be one of those women. I have earned my right to do nothing, and I will do my best to live up to that responsibility!!! So far I have finished one of the books from my library visit, and I've watched way too much TV. The other thing that surprises me is that my friends have been GREAT about not visiting me. I had been in the hospital last year with pneumonia, and the visits wore me out more than the illness did, so I was adamant this time. One friend did bring over dinner, a CD, a flower, and a candle last night, but stayed for less than a minute- God bless her!!

Hopefully things will continue to roll along. I wish all of you rapid recovery!

Well I too survived. My surgery was 3/29 and I came home 3/30 around 4:00. I didn't pass all the test so here I sit with a Foley Catheter. Reallt not too bad. However I'm mad at my doc. He left for a conference in Hawaii. I can't wait to see him. I had lapro. I'm really sore also had retrocele and cyctocele repair with permanent mesh. Im trying to avoid the percocet since I have issues with constipation. I'll post back in a few days

Hey fnnyfce, where in GA. I was at Northside.

Today is day 4 since surgery (LSH 3/29) and I woke up this morning feeling great. Now if only I could go potty, I think I would feel better. I've been taking colace so hopefully that will help. Still have some pulling and a little pain on the side where I had a 3 inch incision but not too bad.
