I have had some bladder discomfort but, again, not major at all.
I had this last week. Went to pee in cup at dr. office to check if bladder infection. No infection. I was told that was normal - that is the way the pelvic area reacts to trauma.

Glad to hear your recovery is going well! I'm not going to rush driving - from what I hear from all the Sisters, it wears you down!

hello all. Thanks for all the concern. I avoided the hospital today. I got the cold duck bill though Tomorrow I have to go have a vaginal ultrasound done to see if the abcess is getting bigger because of the pain and the temp. If it is back to the hospital to have it drained. So will keep ya'all posted. Thanks for the prayers. DH wouldn't even get out of bed to go with me so I drove myself. He is a jerk and went this is over he may just be gondy.............(Could just be menopause speaking but he really is a jerk) I had to call my therapist on the way to the dr. to vent to keep from crying. Thank God I found a good psychologist. He has helped me a lot

Well I am gonna try to take a nap right now I am wore out. Remember I am part of the sleepless club. Probley president of it since I have been a member now for about 8 months. I go on about 2 - 3 hrs sleep every night then since I can't sleep I usually end up going to work early and working 12 to 16 hrs. Staying at home is killing me..................

And this is MYSPACE too. I now can't wait to get on her and read everything. I love this site. We should have a big hystersister convention.LOL.

Thanks again you guys are my biggest supporters right now....

(hold on - the dog lost his ball - I need to help him...found it under my blanket!)

I am also doing crosswords, as much as I can on my own then I turn to the internet for help with clues! ... I also enjoy watching old romance movies from the 40's and 50's on Turner Classic Movies channel... BUT tonight is American Idol. This is the first season I've watched it. Any other fans out there?
Does anyone notice that what you do now to pass the time is very different from what you thought you'd do while recuperating? I loaded my iPod thinking I'd want to listen to it non-stop, but hardly listen to it. In my busy life, my iPod is my escape, my retreat. In my recovery world, drug-influenced as it is, I have no need to escape. I'm living in escape-land. I knew I'd watch TV and I am doing that. I knew I'd sleep a lot and I'm doing that. I also knew I'd be on the computer as soon as humanly possible, and I did that! The first few days home from the hospital, I did crossword puzzles and the crytoquip just to try to get my brain going.

Before my first child, I cross-stitched all the time. I quit when she was born (no time) and never started back up. I have several nice pieces that are not quite done. One of these years I'll finish them. I don't think it will be at this point in time, however.

Dogs/Pets: What do our dog normally do all day without any of us home? I know mine mostly sleeps and he still sleeps a lot while I am home, but he wants to be naughty too much. He just turned one and so likes to chew, play, annoy the cats, find treats in the cat box (ugh), chew toilet paper, bite pencils, find fun chew toys in the recycling bag, get lots of attention, chew, chew and chew. Then he sits and stares at me like I'm supposed to entertain him. Oh, and he weighs about 110 pounds and thinks he a nice cute beagle or something (he's a black lab). I sleep with a pillow on my belly for my own protection.

I am also a big American Idol fan. I started watching halfway through season 4 and really liked Constantine (go ahead and laugh). When he got voted off, I quit voting. Last season, while watching the tryouts, I heard the most amazing voice I'd ever heard. I researched the guy on the internet before I even knew he would go very far and found out he'd already recorded two CD's and played many live concerts. I had about five CD's of his music before he even made the top 12. His soulful and acoustic music is absolutely incredible. The music he performed on American Idol was different from what he usually played, but it was fun to watch. I voted each week and he eventually won. I have been to two of his concerts (not the show tour, but him and his bands), I've met him twice and have lots of stuff signed by him. I get tired of people joking that he's my boyfriend or that I have a crush on him. He simply has a voice that pleases me way down to my soul and I'm thankful he's using the gifts God gave him. Can you guess who I'm talking about? As far as this season, I really liked Sundance Head and Chris Sligh. The voting this year is bizarre, but I'd better not complain because I'm not voting that much. I am disgusted that Sanjaya is doing so well and think he's making a mockery of a formerly good show. I don't hate Sanjaya and I can appreciate that he's making the most of his chance to get noticed by people, but....time to go home!

My belly is still sore and swelling, but less so. I've been icing it all day and the binder is back on during the day. After yesterday's deadly ride down the freeway, I've taken it more easy today. I drove the two kids to their schools, came home, fiddled around, did a little laundry, watched Price is Right, ate and then slept from 11am to 1:30pm. Now it's time to pick up my daughter. Boy, I accomplished a lot today.

We can all write a book after our collective experiences!

Ditto--what Jen said

[quote=jennirutherford]TK I hope you don't join the sleepless club. But at least we have someone to chat with in the wee hours of the morning.

As far as being able to use coffee to fall asleep.... Did you know that is one big symptom of adult adhd....

I second what Jen said---I speak from the other side of the "fence". One of the tests we (in the mental health clinic) told parents to do for their kids---was give them black coffee--no sugar, NOT cola, cuz it has the sugar that runs kids with adhd "up a flag pole". And if they came up positive, (put them to sleep) we referred them to a child psych. for screening for adhd. So, it's not uncommon, for certain persons. Good luck in finding what you need. Of course, ask your doc. for what's best for YOU.

I LOVED CONSTANTINE MAROULIS!!! My kids and DH thought I was NUTS b/c when he would sing, I'd shush them and squeal like an Elvis fan when he was done. My favorite performance? "I Think I Love You" by David Cassidy! I was taken back to adolescence...

Last season, I voted for Kat. I bought her CD and it is NOTHING like her AI performances. One song is all about SHOES (called Open Toes)! It's very pop-princess, Christina Aguilara - like (who I love), but not what I wanted or expected. Oh well. She made a buck off of me. We also voted for and bought Chris Daughtry's cd which is AWESOME. He should have won. Taylor was good, but not my American Idol.

Jen,
Glad you're home and didn't have to stay at the "castle." (Do we still call it that when it's a repeat trip or is more of a fortress/dungeon?) Good luck tomorrow.

As for coffee, if I drink caffeine of any kind after 6pm, I'm UP! But then again, no one EVER accused me of having ADHD! But a cup of decaf sounds good right about now...

huh. I haven't had constipation hardly at all. I just feel every bit of it as it moves along.
Also, I was almost done bleeding before I left the hospital. Feels really weird to have no discharge at all.

And i must say, this lying around doing "nothing" got old REALLY fast. I had a cone biopsy in February, so I was barely recovered from that and I was back in again.

Wish I could get more brain cells working, I have some web sites to fix. Also, daytime tv leaves a LOT to be desired. I may have to start watching Y&R again. I watched a lot of cartoons though.

Please ladies STOP if you're tired. It will take longer to recover, trust me on this one. One of the hard things I had to learn was that my household and yes, the Internet would run along fine without me. Ouch. And I even "work" online.

Oh and in good news, I got an email about doing a possible phone interview this week about homeschooling. I've been doing it 13+ years and am an advocate & support group leader, so this will be the 4th big time interview I've done. And I look like just a stay-at-home soccer mom, go figure. In fact, when I was in Outpatient this morning getting staples out, the nurse said I looked too young to have a hysto. Gee, I found enough grey hairs last night to refute that. My mom drove me over becasue my hubby is away working all week, and I swear she hit every single pothole there and back. Twice. She had a hysto as well (for endo, not cancer like me), so you would think she'd be less about her and more about me, but no. Sigh. Her mom had one too, so I got t hear all the misinformation about that. I have 3 daughters, 2 teens so they have been smart enough to see what we all went thru and are getting proactive about their own health. Let's hope they stay on top of it thru their 20's.

Oh, I have a blog (not myspace) where I have been posting my recovery in excruciating details. I think it's listed in my profile. I should make a sig...

OH! I *have* ADD so I know all about using caffiene to go to sleep. Heh, and in re-reading my post I guess it's obvious I have ADD.

Yes TK, I had this list of things I was going to get done--that I don't seem to have the time for when working--but I don't think I'm going to make it...at least not all of it. Of course, I had a couple of little complications, too. Was supposed to be TVH, and ended up TAH. I am still going to try to get all the online mini-courses done before I go back to work--NEXT WEEK!! See, I'm not really off work. I work in Alternative Education. Since I don't have my credential yet, my contract will end at the end of the year. I work as a teacher in independant study, so it's not hard work...lots of paperwork. But my head teacher said that we wouldn't even bother to tell anyone that I was off last week, and with this week being Spring break, I get 2 1/2 weeks to recoup, before going back. AND since the other two teachers in my room (including the head teacher---also our union rep.---have both had hyterectomies, they will take good care of me and not let me do anything to strain myself. I count myself very blessed to work with them. If I need to take off a couple of hours early, they won't say anything---as long as the work gets done. They know I put in long hours at other times. I love working with these kids---the same type of kids I used to work with, in mental health. IN fact, I have two students who were former clients.

TK---take good care not to allow your doggie hurt you. I hear that sleeping with the pillow over you!!

I have a good friend who was and is a #1 fan of Clay Aiken (sp?) She gets the same "boyfriend" BS. You just keep on supporting---singing artists needs their fans.

My tummy is sore, too. What's the "binder" you referred to? I've been looking for something to help with the muscle pain. I bought a Swelly Belly Band, and it was nice to relieve itching (which I have not had much of---maybe when I heal more) But I didn't find it helped support my aching tummy muscles. I'm considering a maternity belt, or post-partum support belt. I finally found some medium support panties that seem to help. My back aches like when I was preg. with my last baby. And I was thinking, how horrible it would be for our sisters, who have never had any babies, to have to go to a "maternity section" to find relief. UGH!! Ther has to be something for "US Hyster Sisters" like for those who have had mastectomies. JCPENNEY has a whole cateloge for our sisters who no longer have breasts or who need similar support. Any ideas, Sisters?
