Worried for the first time...

I'm worried for the first time. I mentioned earlier that I pulled something. Long story, but I had what I would describe as a prolonged charlie horse in my upper abdomen while trying to change position with the laptop on my lap this afternoon. Since, I've been cramping and achy all night - so much so that I went back on the percocet. Now, I just went to the bathroom and passed what appears to be a big stitch (about an inch long with a knot, tinged with blood - looked kind of like heavy white embroidery floss). What now? I'll call the doc in the morning, but I'm worried. I hope I can sleep. I added a valium to my nightly cocktail so I don't freak out. Keep me in your thoughts.

Colls - definitely call your doc first thing! Since you're two weeks out, could be normal passing a stitch just brought on by some stretching. That pain doesn't sound right though. Please call doc in the morning. I'll be thinking about you.

I'll keep all my Sisters in my thoughts and prayers tonight. Sweet dreams! I mean it! Everybody get some sleep and SWEET dreams! I'm going to bed watching 10 Ways to Lose a Guy... hopefully Matthew McCanaughey (sp?) will be in my dreams!

JayHawk - During the week, my DH and I get only about 5 -7 hours of sleep.
TK! How do you do it, womon! Only 5-7 hours a nite?!! I'd be totally worthless.
I'm looking forward to the first band booster meeting I'll get to (as soon as I finish my Thursday evening classes.) I got to transfer my kids to schools in the town where I live, at the Semester break. My DD loves the band at this school, much better than her old school. I'm keeping in contact with a band booster mom, whom I have yet to meet. She too has been very supportive.
I hear the driving thing---I have ventured out a few miles from home. But girl I'm in sunny CA. I don't know how you all in colder climates keep from going stir crazy---being trapped inside for several weeks or months. I think I'm going to check out one of those "binder" things. Maybe get my doc to prescribe one.

Abdomen spotting anyone?

Okay so I looked at the bottom of the page and see I am the only one looking at it. I guess I'm the first one in the insomnia clubhouse tonight. Oh well, that's what I get for feeling better and not taking any pain meds since this a.m.

Also, I am in the doghouse with my mom. I'm 46 years old and am in the "DOGHOUSE". My daughter was supposed to bring home Subway for dinner tonight because Mom finally went out tonight and left me alone. (DD works till 6 and I don't blame her for not wanting to cook dinner at that hour.) Well, she came home and suggested we go to Friendly's. I'm always up for ice cream! So we did. Mom came home and I told her we went and she got ticked because she said I told her DD's car jostled me the other day. Well it did because DD was driving too fast. I told her she had to slow down today and she did. I did not feel that many bumps. (Jay - I also told her to stay off the highway because I would be way too stressed with her driving.)

Anyway, I later told my mom (who is a nurse and was a nurse on the delivery floor of the hospital for 15 years then went to a med/surg floor when my dad passed away when I was 13 and worked there for a few years) that I was still having "track marks" (spotting) on my undewear from my abdominal incision and asked if that was still normal. She was ticked at me and told me I wasn't doing what she said so why was I asking her. I'm sorry, but I do give in to my DD and I wanted to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE.

Now I'm crying as I write this. (This is nothing new. I was always emotional before the hyst and I guess I will be emotional after it, too.) But what I want to know is if anyone else who had a TAH is having this as well. I've had it every day since surgery and I'm 12 days post surgery. I guess If I need to know something, my sisters are the ones to ask from now on.

I'm sure Mom and I will get past this, but for right now it's a PITA (pain in the ***). She will be gone all day tomorrow on a senior citizen trip so I will rest up and be a "good girl" while she is gone. How stupid do I feel having to write this to women who have husbands and not living at home with "Mom". Most times it doesn't bother me because it has been the best for both of us. I get to live in better housing than I would if it was just my income and she has someone to cut the grass, shovel the snow, and to take nurse her through her two surgeries, etc.

Thanks for listening. Now I guess I will go take a percocet and maybe get some sleep. Talk to you all in the a.m.

Well, I'm sure I'd be whacko emotional if I hadn't had my antidepressant increased right before surgery. I'm usually the emotional one---<---cries at Purina Cat Chow commercials, and the old AT&T "reach out and touch someone" commercials.
Hey Kel, we're bi-coastal Hyster twins.
Hope you sleep well.

OK its 2:30 here and as I see I'm the only one in the sleepless club up. Hopefully everyone is is getting some much need sleep. Fever back up this morning 99.6.

I had to take DD to the family doc today because she somehow got hot coffee spilled in her ear at work. When we got there the dr. looked at me and said he had been reading a book on me today. (from my last stay in the hosp.) I just laughed at him.

OK sisters I am now out of pain meds and am resorting to advil. I don't want to ask for more because I feel like a druggie or something.

For everyone who has appointments today Good Luck

Jen

Well, my point about my sleep is that its pretty easy for me to fall asleep at night, due to the fact that I get less sleep during the week.

Sophia, the only people trapped inside for weeks and months in the winter are transplanted Californians! Life goes on the same summer or winter; just your clothes change. Winter is BY FAR my favorite season. I hate weather over 80 degrees.

Hey all! I posted pictures. Did anyone else notice that when you click on each other's names, there's a list of things to check out - websites, photos, bios, etc. I posted two photos of me - before and after my weight loss.

Couldn't he check you out, Jen? Geez!

God's blessings to you today as you talk with your doctor.

Thank you TK. I'm getting ready to get a shower and head off to the castle to get my ultrasound. My bleeding is doubled this morning and I woke up with a pounding headache. I'm so sick of being sick. I'm ready to start running again and softball season has started and I'm missing out. BOOHOO.
