Gardener, my doc told me I could do the stairs once a day. (I'm a TAH/BSO, which I know is different.) Well I would get up once during the night so that meant twice up and down the stairs a day. I also needed my daughter to help me clean the cat's box which meant 3 times a day up and down the stairs. Therefore I have been in the living room on the recliner for the past 3 nights. Partly because I was having spotting and didn't know if the stairs were responsible or if my sleeping on my belly (which I don't do in the recliner) were the reason for the spotting. I called doc and was told it may be internal stitches disolving, but I'm still on the recliner and plan to be for several days.

Jen - A mile walk with the dog? Vicoden or not, I don't think I could go that far. Good for you!

I gotta go. I've been on the computer longer than I expected. I set the timer for 1/2 hour and turned that off probably 1/2 hour ago! LOL This site is ADDICTING.

Jen, how much does your dog weigh? I thought the ten pound rule applied to pulling, as well as lifting, pushing, etc. Unless your dog doesn't pull at the leash. Mine's a 110 pound black lab puppy and I haven't (sadly) been able to walk him since last fall. He pulls too hard (duh). I'm jealous, but I also plan to get back into being able to walk him.

I hear you on the "what was done to "older women"--Kel, we really ARE almost bi-coastal twins...'cept I'm exactly 3 months older.
My regular gyno. IS sensitive. I was straight up with her, when I saw her the very first time, for routine PAP. I told her not to expect any replies to questions in process, as I'm a childhood abuse survivor and I'm "gone" when have proceedures done. She was AWESOME...very helpful. And she also was sensative to my revealing (well, lets just say, the thought of being with a man makes me shudder.) She asked if my "partner" would be present. I've never had a partner.
When I saw her, I had been bleeding for 6 months, straight. I thought it was just the stress of a horrible divorce----the ugliest one my kids' schools had ever seen. She put me on birth control pills to regulate my cycle---what a hoot! Worked for a little while, but I would start bleeding through after a few months--even with raised doses. Finally at highest level, I was about to lose my mind...very uncomfortable. That's when we started talking about Hyster. She's been awesome all around. Not all women are like that.

I won't accept that 46 is old, except to a teenage girl! We are beautiful, strong, so capable, wise, loving and very experienced. We have many years left on this earth, God willing. (I'll get off my soapbox now.)

Theresa, my dog is a pup but weights about 40 lbs and yes I was trying to be wonder woman again. I will never learn. It was a very bad idea. She is an 8 month old American Stafford. I won't be walking her for quite some time. I am as my DH would say stubborn. I have had 4 knee surgeries partly because I can't quit playing softball and right now is the beginning of the season and it is killing me. I do factory work and am scheduled to go back on 5/9/07 and I can't wait this being down is horrible but I also have adhd. and yes I have the hyperactivity so you can only imagine that I am pulling my hair out.

Depending on your definition of "old"....
I can't wait to turn 50, or 55 and get senior discounts. Actually, I'm looking forward to a croning ceremony, when I'm finally old enough. Several of my friends have already had theirs...and are looking forward to mine. I throw quite the party. Of course, you'll all be invited---years from now. And you can attend in person, or via the Internet/in spirit.
