I'm still up. Exhausted but not wanting to go to sleep.....go figure. I am just trying to keep up with the posts, not easy on an old computer and dial up, lol. Someone else mentioned how good some of you are about replying to each post, I agree and am not sure how any of you are able to do it. I wish I had the time, energy, and brain power to reply to each. Please know that all of my fellow Sisters are in my thoughts even when I am not posting. ;-)

After posting my "look ma, no hands", everything is going fine post yesterday, I've had some heavy spotting, light bleeding last night and all day today. I am not worried but did call my dr office just in case. They are not worried, neither am I (but I will try to slow back down a bit), and I see them late next week. I will keep an eye on things and call back if things get worse or more symptomatic.

Hugs!
Kathy

Dial up? I didn't think anyone had dial up anymore? How frustrating is that for you?? I bet it is difficult to keep up with all the posts! Glad you make the effort! I enjoy chatting with you!

I'm exhausted, too. Talked to my friend on the phone tonight she acknowledged that I sounded exhausted. However, I can't go to sleep! I talked to dr. about sleep problem and night sweats when I do sleep. She said ovaries are still in shock but to monitor the situation. Wouldn't that be a bite! HRT WITH ovaries!

Regarding the bleeding - good idea to slow down. I bet you'll find a big difference if you'll just be a couch potato! It's hard for some of us to not do anything, but it is for the best!

Hopefully we'll get some quality sleep tonight! I set my radio next to my bed to a jazz station in case I wake up and can't go back to sleep. Maybe that will help!

I called doc and was told it may be internal stitches disolving, but I'm still on the recliner and plan to be for several days.
Kelly - I'm just the opposite. I sleep on my sides all the time. Rarely on my back. I'm only able to sleep in recliner if I have a cold and need to be upright. DH has been sleeping in recliner, instead. He's afraid to sleep in bed with me yet because of incision.
When should we expect to see stitches dissolving? I forgot who said they had already had stitches dissolving.? It's like I'm 11 again looking for my first period! Funny how excited I was then to have "become a woman". I'm definitely excited to be without it now!

I am one of those. It is hard for me to take it easy, but I did today and what do I get for it? My abdomen stitches were oozing! (More than just spotting.)

Good thing Mom and I do not hold a grudge. She was out all day today at a Gatlin Brothers concert at the casino and I did sleep on and off most of the day. Probably because I did not get a lot of sleep last night. Anyway, I showed her my stomach and she suggested putting a bandage over the oozing. She will be home with me tomorrow and we will monitor it. (Lucky for me she's not only my mom but she's a nurse, too!) If it keeps up, she said to call the doc on Fri and see if I should see him or go to my regular gyn in town.

TK - I thought those were your kids, too, until I realized that it went into all posted pictures. My best pet was my black lab. I had to put her down 6 years ago this month. So glad to have the hyst so that the emotions can come flowing out my eyes this month. LOL She was only 8 1/2 yrs old and developed lymphoma. We were all on separate vacations and I came home first. She was at a kennel, but I don't blame them because it must have been something growing in her. She could not have developed it like that in a week I don't think. That was at the end of Feb. We had her on meds, but it wasn't doing the trick and she became blind too. DD and I were with her at the end. Mom waited in the car. Patty Kate (her name) is now in a container at the head of my bed and hopefully will be buried with me one day. (That's if DD can sneak her in my coffin. I don't think it's allowed to bury dog ashes with people.) I can't get another dog because none will compare with her so I have two inside cats instead. (Much easier to take care of except for cleaning poopie box when you've had a hyst. My sister-in-law comes over once a day for that. Thank goodness because if it doesn't get cleaned to Daisy's (one of my cats) liking, she poops where she wants and it is usually in my bed! I guess she doesn't like sharing the box. Now I've stooped to talking about cat poo! LOL

Okay, well I guess it's time for bed. (My percocet should be kicking in about now. I took it at 11 p.m.) See you ladies tomorrow. Hope all have a good sleep and take it easy tomorrow. Jen, are you listening?????

P.S. Sophia - I am so glad to have a bi-coastal sister!

I was so upset to learn that those of us who started early would probably have our period longer than those who got it later. I was an early bloomer at 11 and thought I would have it into my 60's! That's the one good thing about having the hyst. I don't have to have it ever again!!!!!

Yeeeuuuuup. And I've heard that old womyn don't just get moody during menopause. They just realize that life's too short to put up with crap anymore, and they get REAL. Some get wise before their years.

DH is asleep 10 ft. from me - I'm trying to type quietly! I missed talking to everyone today during my nap time! I'm a little depressed about it! I've become dependent on my Sisters! I like this group hug smiley!
Awwwwwwwww, I'm sure you needed that nap.

Hooooraaaaay! 2 weeks!
I won't be online nearly as much starting Monday. I'm back to work. But since my students are all Independent Study, it's low stress. And the other two women who work in the same room, have already made it clear they will look out for me. If I need to leave early, they'll cover for me. They've both had TAH's and will take good care of me. See, I'm not really out on disability. I took a week off right before Spring Break. So, I'll only check in about once a day.

Thank God I didn't see anyone from the sleepless club last night. This must mean that everyone got a good nights sleep. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. And DON"T OVER DO IT. That goes for all my sisters..
