any w/ priror hernia repair too?

Hi Sisters, Have any of you post-ops (new or old) also had a inguinal hernia repair before your hyster. ? I had one about 4 years ago. I had my hysterectomy on March 13th. I'm having lots of pain and a pulling sensation in my groin and along the hernia repair site. The other side doesn't hurt at all, so I'm sure it's related to the hernia repair. The pain is not excruciating, but constant and enough to warrent prescription strength Naprosyn sometimes having to add Advil halfway through dose.
Any thoughts, similar experiences, suggestions?

Thanks, LJC

Gig'em!

I had an inguinal hernia repair prior to my hysterectomy. I seemed to have had a bit of tugging sensation after surgery so that I even asked my doctor about the feeling/pain, wondering if the repair of the hernia had been disturbed. I was checked and assured that both were fine but that was after a checkup.

Be sure and mention it to your doctor....and know that your surgery was so recent that the pain you are experiencing is probably from your hysterectomy. But have your surgeon check you out!

Thanks

Thanks Kathy,
I called today just to give her office a heads up and make sure I don't need to do anything else other than continue bed rest. I have my 2 week appt. on Thurs. I pretty much thought the same thing your Dr. told you. Things are healing and just pulling on the old incision. What's got me worried is the pain and pulling are getting worse and not controlled even with codiene. Even with almost complete bedrest (get up to get food, pee and short (less than 10 min) computer checks to hystersisters.

I'm pretty sure the pain I'm feeling is the hernia repair. It runs from my groin up through my abdomin to just above my C-section line (ie, right where the hernia was). And ONLY there. Other than that pain the rest of my abd. feels pretty good unless I go for too long a walk or sit too long at the computer. Typical getting tired easily if up too long but otherwise I think I'm healing well.

Thanks for the support and reassurance! Linda
