See surgeon or reg. doc for non-hyst issues one week out?

Hey girls, I was wondering...if I experience any medical condition (seemingly) not related directly to my hysterectomy and I'm only one week out of surgery would I see Dr. who did surgery or call my family doc? I have a few concerns and I'm wondering if I have strep or just thrush in my throat from using my advair. Have a dull headache all day that Ibuprofen doesn't seem to touch. I have an appt. with surgeon (checkup) for Thursday, so I may tough it out until then- but it did bring the question to my mind that if I have a medical issue do I see him or my regular doctor? What have you girls done?

I would think on a situation like this, probably your family doctor.

I would say see your family doctor but maybe mention the fact that you are a week out and any medicines you have been on just in case there may be a relation to what you are being seen for.

I went to my family doctor when I was about 2 weeks out for some things that were not directly related and actually some that were (not sleeping still). He was really great and helped confirm some of the things my surgeon had said, and added some helpful tips, since he knows me and my family better. Either way, if you're concerned about something, I'd call one or the other. No reason to "tough" things out if there is something that can be done to help. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
