Big Day Getting Closer

I am all ready to head off and get this over with, my nerves aren't as ready as I am tho LoL, seems like since I finally got a set scheduled date for surgery the weeks and days have flew by. they called from the hospital yesterday and pre registered me and added a few more knots to my nerves, and I go monday for pre-op tests then check in at 7am on the 3rd for surgery.

I wanted to say that this site is great! I read alot of the threads on here weeks before I actually signed up for a user name, that was when I was bouncing around with the idea of a possible hysterectomy, then when I knew for sure that was what was gonna happen I registered, when I can't sleep at night and getting anxiety about the surgery I come here to read all the post from ladies who have had the surgery so I can get my spirits lifted back up and remind myself everything is going to be ok.

although I read the threads daily, my next post may not be until I have had the surgery, back home and getting better. catch you all over in post op if not sooner DJ

Hi Carebear
Glad that you are feeling so positive, it will help you get through this and accelerate your recovery (well i believe that anyway!). Yes I remember how hard it is to control those nerves, but just keep focusing on the positive outcome and your recovery and you will be fine. Wishing you a smooth op and recovery, take it easy and be a Princess from day one!

I was also one of the ladies in waiting feeling nervous as a cat prior to surgery. It's good you are going in early the day of your surgery. You'll have less time to fret at home! Hopefully you'll be like I was...on the day of surgery, for whatever reason....I suddenly became very calm and accepting that this is what I needed to do. Now 3 weeks post op, I'm certain of it.
We are all behind you and wishing you an uneventful recovery!
Best wishes!
