How old is everyone?

I am 26 years old. I have 3 girls who are 5, 3 and 2. I have not yet decided what I will do with my situation, but I'm leaning towards a hysterectomy.

How old is everyone?

I was 27 when I had my hyst. last June. I do not have children but I do have a very supportive husband. It was important for me to have this surgery so that I could function and feel well. I don't regret it and did and do continue to have to explain my decision. I am very patient with people, however as I understand that it is difficult for them to know what they might have done in my situation and that they are trying to understand rather than judge...though when they are not a syster it does often sound like a judgement. Someday they may need my help if they are to become a princess, and I will be happy to support them as you all did me. If my larger story would help you or if you have questions, no matter who you are...always feel free to PM me!

Best wishes,

How old is everyone?

I'm 40, today (woot! chuckie cheese later, with the kids!) and have 2 boys, 11 and 2, and a 16 yr old girl. Wouldn't have minded another, but hey, I was getting up there anyway!

How old is everyone?

I'm 33 with 4 kiddos (10, 6, 2, 3 months). I had my tubes tied during my last c-section. The comments I've gotten are mostly supportive ones, then there are a few like, "If your dr knew you were going to end up having a hysterectomy eventually then why didn't he just take the uterus when you had the baby?"

Um..duh..my dr isn't just going to take out my uterus during a c-section because it would have been more convenient! Hey, it would have been nice, it just wasn't happening!

How old is everyone?

I am turning 49 next week, while I'm in the hospital. I have 2 children--grown and married, expecting our first grandchild in August. My kids are 28 and 26--so they are the age of most of you. Never thought I was old until I see what so many of you young ones are going through. Best wishes to you all!!!!

How old is everyone?

I'm 35 with 3 children...19yo DD, 15yo DS & 12yo DS. The older of the 3 are pretty understanding about the whole cancer thing and are helping out a bunch, as I am trying to pre-train them to take care of themselves durring recovery time. My DD lives behind us and comes over daily to see if I need anything. I tell her to wait til after the surgery and she can make sure the kitchen stays clean (my biggest pet peeve). Little Man just pretty much keeps to himself. Surgery is scheduled for April 25 if all goes well with INS.

How old is everyone?

I am 28 and have suffered with endo since I started my period and I also had a severe prolapsed uterus that caused just as many issues as my endo! I heard a lot of nasty comments but at the same time also heard a lot of supportive comments from my DH, mother and best friend so that made all the nasty comments not hurt as much! I think no matter what we go through people will have negative and postive things to say....if only people would learn when it is appropriate to open their mouths we would all be in a little better moods! Best of luck and know that you are doing what you are doing so you can have a better life. I look at it this way....I am 28 and will now have the quality of life that I deserve. If I had waited I would have been in constant pain and been miserable...and my uterus and cervix were completely shot so what would have been the point in waiting until I was a more appropriate age? What is an appropriate age for a hysterectomy..as far as I am concerned there just isn't one! And, most of all I will never have to suffer with horrible periods that seemed to never quit and I will not have to worry about my organs literally falling out due to the prolapse. I am about 7 weeks post-op and feel great. I would have loved to have been pregnant 1 more time, I have two sons already. But I consider myself very lucky to have what I have (it took 5 years to get pregnant with first) and I know that for my DH and myself we will adopt in the future and give some beautiful child a loving home! Hang in there and keep us updated!
