Can't sleep...again...
Okay...another night of not getting to sleep, have my ovaries (so no HRT) , and and am 5 1/2 months post-op...and still have so many menopausal-type symptoms...the worst of which is not being able to fall asleep or stay asleep....I was told that after a few weeks the ovaries "would come out of *shock*"...not yet....
how is anyone else doing?
thanks for listening...hugs to you!

Can't sleep...again...
Hi Jewel1,
I know how frustrating it is not to be able to get the sleep you need.
Have you spoken with your Dr about this? He might be able to provide you with some help in the form of a little estrogen and/or a mild sleeping aid. Sometimes even women who keep their ovaries need a little HRT help for a while.

Can't sleep...again...
Thanks, Kay-
I don't tolerate hormones well, I get a lot of nausea and migraine headaches from them, so it's not really for me. I do think though that at this point, it might be good to "bite the bullet" and ask about a sleep aid....
It helps to know that you are there & listening, 'cause I have friends my age and they just don't get it.

Can't sleep...again...
jewel1 . . . I have insomnia too. I feel for anyone who has sleep problems. It certainly makes life difficult!
I have one ovary but I am on bHRT because my ovary hasn't been playing nice since surgery! It has improved my quality of life but I am still trying to balance my hrt.
Anyway, I just started taking a Calcium500mg/Magnesium250mg supplement before bed with one Tylenol PM. (two Tylenol PMs keeps me awake ) It has helped keep me asleep longer. I'm amazed that it helped from the first night.
I think the Calcium and Magnesium help relax the body. I read that women are low in Magnesium and we certainly need Calcuim for our bones.
It's no magic bullet but it sure beats roaming the floors all night!
Best of luck finding a solution!

Can't sleep...again...
Thanks, Sister......I am adding some extra Calcium, but hadn't upped my Magnesium, so I'll try that for sure.
My ovaries, as you said it, "haven't been playing nice" either...Sometimes I seem to have few symptoms, then, all of a sudden...all kinds of funky stuff happening.
Thanks for your help.
