Waiting...Waiting...Waiting...

So I'm scheduled for surgery in July, but it's all I can think about. Basically I keep telling myself to stay busy, which is not hard considering my life is completely crazy, but it's not working!! I just want it over with!! I want to feel better!! It's so hard to focus on my classes being on pain meds! The sad part is that I cannot move the date up because I'm going to be in classes until late June...I'm just frustrated and had to vent...Sorry!!

Waiting...Waiting...Waiting...

To me the waiting was worse than the surgery itself. Of course I am just know starting my recovery period and I am experiencing something new everyday. Surgery was on the 2nd. I had a vaginal with them only leaving one ovary. I found staying busy was the best thing for me while waiting to get my surgery done. Mine was postponed due to waiting on assistance with the funding for it because I don't have any insurance. So they wait was really intense for me. My family life keeps me very busy and I like staying active so this lying and sitting around is what is really bothering me now along with the many different pains I am having. Everyone I talked to before my surgery told me that I would feel like a new woman after having this surgery and I am waiting to find that out. I hope and pray they are all right and things will be better in the end. I am soooo looking forward to no more periods twice a month with all the pains that came with them.

Hang in there and your time will be here soon enough. Just enjoy yourself the best you can. Stay busy and you will come thru this period and your surgery just fine. Best of luck to you and you will be in my prayers.

Waiting...Waiting...Waiting...

I agree about the waiting! My surgery was scheduled 2 weeks out because I knew I would look for reasons not to have it if I had too much time to think about it! I made sure to work longer hours right up until the 2 days of bowel prep...then I spent those two days cleaning house. The oddest part was that I was very peaceful and happy the morning I went in for surgery. I wasn't anxious at all! Go figure!

Waiting...Waiting...Waiting...

My surgery is booked for mid-June and I know what you say about waiting, waiting, waiting! As it gets closer I feel more nervous. I agree about keeping busy, but I also want to make sure I give myself time to think about the surgery, what it means for me and prepare myself. I don't want to have it done and then think, oh I wish I had done more mental prep before hand!
Take care

Waiting...Waiting...Waiting...

Jilly -

Been there! Last year I 'knew' what was going on in May. Couldn't get a US to confirm until July. Confirmed decision to Dr within a week but then because of scheduling couldn't schedule until 1st of Sept. It was a long frustrating 4 months that I really struggled through trying to focus on work and home. There was nothing I could do but I did find once I found this site, I slept a little better. At least I knew if I couldn't sleep at 1 am, someone would be on and that seemed to help me sleep. I didn't feel alone.

Best wishes on your classes and up coming surgery,

Julie

Waiting...Waiting...Waiting...

Hi Jillian!
I can relate! I my classes don't end until May14th so I scheduled my trip to the castle on the 15th, we had a snow day and now I have to reschedule my final. I had a D&C and hystoscopy in January, and by the time I got a post op appointment, it was the end of the month...so when the dr. said that I could either have a hysterectomy or do progesterone, I of course jumped for the progesterone. Long story short, the LAVH is scheduled for May 15. It has been a long 3 months, but there is only 1 left to go. Sometimes I'm okay, and I can push it all into the back of my mind, and sometimes it is the only thing I can think about! I just get overcome with dread. I grab a book, or take a walk and that clears my head and gives me back perspective. Reading the lives of the lovely ladies here helps a lot too. So many courageous woman, sharing their victories and defeats, to try to help someone else is very awe inspiring and humbling. You'll make it through with flying colors too!

Waiting...Waiting...Waiting...

I'm an impatient waiting sister too. I had a date in December but my step mom became terminal and passed. Scheduled for March, and found out I needed to do some repairs with a urogyn, so instead of doing two surgeries I opted to reschedule again. I am scheduling late out so that I can have help running kids around. The waiting for me is the worst, I sooooo want to get it over with so I can move on! Good luck!

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words!! I am hoping the time passes fairly quick, so I don't go insaine in the meantime...lol...This site is definately helpful...I am so thankful I found it...It's just hard to concentrate on anything else...I feel like no one else understands (family and friends) because they are not in it...I feel like everyone here understands, and it helps me through the days...I'm only 28 so my friends are like "hysterectomy, what's that?" Thanks so much to everyone...it's nice knowing I can talk/relate to you and vice versa...It really makes me feel comfortable...Good luck to everyone that has an upcoming surgery...I hope to read some encouraging words on the post op page soon...

Jilly, I find this a comforting site as well. Although I am quite a bit older than you, I'm only the second of my friends and the first in my family to go through this! This site has been awesome. Best of luck to you!
