Stretch Marks & Incision recovery...

Okay...so I have opted for the vertical incision because my tummy is simply a road map of stretch marks...there will be no bearing of the belly on purpose in this life time! LOL The doctor said it would be an easier procedure and a faster recovery with the vertical...so I promptly signed up! Now I am wondering, how well does the incision site heal if you are coated with stretch marks? Ya know the kind that leaves gaping pockets of skin in the center of the stretch mark?? Thanks to any who have any input!

I do not have a vertical incision but my scar healed nicely and I have stretch marks that look like I was on the losing end of a fight with a large tiger. HTH

I've got 2 1.5" incisions and lots and lots of stretch marks. They healed fine, but they are much smaller...so, I don't know? Though I'd offer my experience though!

Woo hoo & excellent...I know no two patients are alike...I don't expect that I will react the same way someone else does, but it sure helps in the positive thinking area when I can hear about great outcomes! Thanks

Stretch Marks & Incision recovery...

I had 1 incision out of 4(1 1/2 inch long from LSH/BSO)that wouldn't hold together well because of my stretch marks. My dr had to put extra stitches in it to close it properly, but at 9 weeks post-op, everything looks fine and it did hold together! Good luck!

My incisions were held together with lots and lots of glue.
