Strange feeling in vagina

Hello Sisters,
Hope all are well.
I had a TVH(kept ovaries) on March 30th. I read a post about bowel pressing on back wall of vagina. About 3 days ago, I got this feeling as if something was trying to come out of me or something stuck-kind of like when you put a tampon in wrong. Only really seems irritating when I stand. When I lay down the pressure seems to be relieved. Other than that, bladder fine, bowels a little stubborn at times....Any suggestions on what could be going on? Is this part of the healing process? Thanks for all you anwers in advance...This is a great site and I am so blessed to have found it......Blessings to all. Cathy

Strange feeling in vagina

Hi. I have had this feeling since week 5 post-op. I was suffering constipation badly up until the 5 week mark. The feeling is also relieved for me when reclining or lying down but when standing, the feeling is like something in the vagina. My gynae. told me to stop worrying (after an internal exam) and said the bowel is pressing in on the vagina but it might heal itself and just don't get constipated or strain. I am still constipated, have tried everything all the sisters recommend and am still trying. Took Senokot last night again and use stool softeners every day. Try to keep your bowels moving and see your surgeon if you are concerned. That is just my advice, as I am going through this.

Strange feeling in vagina

Hi Cathy,
I read your post on the other thread, and sent you a private message before finding this thread.

I know this may sound gross, but have you taken a mirror and looked down there? Mine was sort of an egg-shaped pink bulge out of the entrance of the vagina, but not below the lips of the vulva (in other words, it was fairly small).

In addition to what I said in the private message: If this does turn out to be a problem similar to mine, one thing my doctor wanted to be sure of is that I continue to keep my BMs as soft as possible. I'm eating Metamucil wafers twice daily (morning and late afternoon), drinking prune juice (ack!), and taking Colace at night. In addition to that, I'm also trying to eat lots of fruits and veggies. So far, no straining. One thing I've noticed is that it feels as if I can't completely evacuate when I have a BM, but I don't strain. The doc said that is not abnormal for this problem. Hopefully, yours is nothing serious, and it will heal itself. My surgery was only two days prior to yours, and mine didn't show up until several days post-op. I was very scared at first, but my doctor said he wasn't worried. I trust him, so I'm trying not to worry either. I am doing as he ordered, and taking it easier than I did a few days ago, and making sure I don't have to strain during BMs. It seems to be a little better, and I saw the doctor two days ago.

that it's nothing serious. Let me know what your doctor says.

Strange feeling in vagina

I had also had a similar problem - at about 2 weeks after TVAH it felt like a tampax was stuck in my vagina and trying to fall out. I went to dr. and even had an internal - there was nothing wrong except a stitch poking me, he took it out. I still had the feeling and at 4 weeks had another internal again nothing wrong anad was told it was ok to have sex that this could help with the feeling something was in my trying to drop out. I had this feeling for the 1st few months and called and went back to dr. nothing was ever wrong (even had catscan of chest, abdomen and pelvic) I am just a slow healer is what he said. I also had feeling of discomfort and deep vaginal pain at cuff while the feeling of something was inside of me. It is now six months and the feeling that something is inside of me is very infrequent and the inside pain is tapering off. HOwever, there are days when all these sypmtoms come back. I don't know if this is what is happening to you, but I would check with the dr.

Strange feeling in vagina

Yes, I have also had strange feelings in the vagina after each of my three repair surgeries now. It seems to take a long long time before it begins to feel like normal - or the new normal - once more.

Strange feeling in vagina

I noticed you are pretty early out and it does sound normal.i found even easy beganing walks around your house or yard in moderation seemed to help. It also helps tremendously with the bowels and your emtional well being and road to recovery. Good Luck and we are here for you. Check with your OB though! We love you!

Strange feeling in vagina

Hi. I forgot to mention that I also feel pain in the vagina sometimes. I felt it a few days ago when we went out and I sat on a bar stool (hard wood) and I felt pain inside the vagina and as though I was "sitting on" my bowel. I am also praying that things will get better but it is worrying. For the last 3 weeks, I am 9 weeks post-op now, I had this feeling while I was standing or walking around at the office, that everything - bladder and bowels was going to fall out of my crotch and I wanted to push up on my crotch and push it all back into place if I could. It was a feeling of heaviness and pressure. This feeling has tapered off and I just have the pressure of the bowel on my vagina now, so hopefully things will get better there in time. I am struggling with constipation and trying not to strain and take the stool softeners, Senokot, soluble fibre (Benefiber) and it is still a struggle.

Strange feeling in vagina

It sounds like what I have experienced almost exactly and it is still tapering off. I was so scared and saw a dr. frequently and it was just healing. I was told to have sex to help heal. It was fun until it became "ok let's do it again. Until it was to much and we just went back to our normal sexual relationship. Magnesium tablets that are with vitamins are the best source I have found for constipation. I take 2 or 3 before bed. Good Luck.

Doctor yesterday

Update:
I went to the doctor yesterday. He told me that everything is healing well. Vaginal cuff looks good. He said that everything gets moved around during surgery and its just healing. It is a common feeling for women to have after surgery. I am so glad I went, just to give me peace of mind. I really appreciate all the replies and to know that I am not the only one feeling this. It so nice to have this site and to know your not alone!!!!! Hope everyone is well and heals quickly.....
Blessings,
Cathy
