Update with gyn/onc

I have been busy getting things ready esp for my 2 girls while I recover after surgery. So here's the update!
Had my gyn/onc (2nd opinion) on 4/2... same results & treatment as my obgyn. He even suggested doing it laproscially (sp) but he called my obgyn and found that it is not possible since I have adhesions from my 1st c-section. So I am going in on 4/25 for TAH (keep ovaries).
The gyn/onc that I saw is not my obgyn's husband- but in the same group. He even told me after I voiced my concerns of trusting other dr opinions, not medically; that he "works" for the patient only, not other drs or himself which is good news. He shared his story of his wife having CIS and going thru a hysterectomy... and my obgyn did the surgery. So my husband and I walked away from the appt with good feeling we never had; we are much more confident with what is going on and trust our drs even more. We are glad we went for the 2nd opinion.
So I have been busy gathering some help during my recovery especially that I have a 2 yr toddler and 3 month old baby. Sister will come out for 4 days and stay with me at hospital at nights- hubby will stay with me during the days. Then I go home on the 27th considering if nothing goes wrong, sis go back home and next day friend will come in from FL & stay for 4 more days then another friend from NY. I am very grateful to them for coming out and help.
Pathology results will come in anytime on May 2 to 4; so hopefully there's no surprises.
I have to admit- even with the hyster coming up; I cry a little everyday- the thought of losing my female identity especially that it carried my girls. I loved being pregnant so that makes a big impact as well.
Wish me luck for the surgery... thinking of you all!

Update with gyn/onc

Good luck. You are laying the best of plans for yourself and your family. Remember to follow the hyster reccomendations for activities after your surgery. My little guys were 6 and 4 and I was very tired for quite awhile. There are some gals here with little little ones. Maybe they can give you some great council on caring for them best and still getting the sleep and help you need.
