Sleeping problems

I also had problems sleeping but I used Lunesta a couple nights and then started taking a homeopathic called coffee cruda for sleeplesness(sp?). I'm not big on medicine but the lunesta worked really well and didn't make me regret taking it the next day. No groggy feeling.

If anyone is interested, 2 Benedryl can do the trick at helping you fall asleep as well with no groggy after-effects.

I went to the doctor on Thursday and she said all is well. She said I could work from home but I'm not ready to go back to work yet. I have to say I went and visited at work, went to the doctor then went and got my hair done and that down right was exhausting! When you are sitting home you feel like you could do so much but when you get out there and do it you see you are not up to par. It may be that I am anemic and can't handle the iron pills so I just have to wait for my body to build it up on it's own.

I too still have the burning sensation and my back hurts but I think the burning sensation is the heeling process and the back ache is because I hold myself differently trying not to use stomach muscles. I also have a slight colored discharge but I should have started on April 30 so maybe my body is just confused. My stomach really starts cramping when I have done too much! I just know once I am heeled it's going to be wonderful. Congrats to all that are feeling better. Hang in there with each day you get a little better.

Hello ladies,
I am 15 days post op and am feeling wonderful. Hubby and I are going to go for a drive today to pick up his race car motor(i know no lifting) at a friends house because racing season will be starting soon. I feel great during the day but at night i have a little pain to deal with. As for the burnng sensation, it is finally gone and i am forever grateful for that because it is the most uncomfortable feeling ever. Well i'm off to enjoy my day, take care everyone and talk to you all later.

It's now day 16 for me! I couldn't stand my libido surges anymore. So many of you had great results on your posts, so I decided to test the waters. My Dr. said that it would probably be harder and take longer to reach the big "O". Nope! No problem there. Only 3 1/2 weeks to go before DH and I can fully experiment; but I'm not worried.

My healing has been great. But I lucked out and had the LAVH. I was glad DH went back to work yesterday. I took advantage of that to do some laundry, picking up around the house and vacuuming. Then I read the 3-4 week post-op article. Whoops! Yes, I did several no-nos on the list. By 4:30pm I needed to lie down for about an hour, then I was pretty good to go again. I still get pooped out fairly easy.

I'm not doing any menopause treatments but w/o many problems yet. I'm glad someone in a previous post used the term "warm surge". That's about right for me too. I've had a few of those and am starting to realize some of the things that brings it on: alcohol, the "O". Other than that, having some insomnia issues as well. But nothing that cannot be managed. I had started taking evening primose oil and flaxseed oil even before surgery. I think that might have been beneficial for the lack of menopause symptoms.

Hope eveyone is doing better. Happy Cinco de Mayo and enjoy some good mexican food today!! I know I will, YUM!!

Had my TAH BSO on 4/17/07 - Surgery started with the laparoscope, but there was too much going on to proceed that way so they did the horizontal incision and removed all wickedness that way and then the cervix vaginally. Bladder was cut and stitched up during surgery. Hospital stay was 4 days and I went home with the catheter. Was in a lot of pain at first, getting in and out of bed and getting out of chair made my incisions and stomach feel like things were being torn and had a lot of burning sensation. The burning and tearing sensation is only occasional now. Was able to get off pain meds after 2 weeks. It's been 2.5 weeks and I've worked my way into walking 1 mi on flat surfaces so things are improving. I feel pretty good in the mornings and then real sore in the afternoons and evening. Gas has been a problem for me as well in the late afternoons and evenings. Got off stool softners as soon as I wasn't taking pain meds and have been eating 5 dried plums (prunes) a day and that seems to keep things working good. Got the catheter removed on Monday this week after they ran dye through to be sure it was healed up okay. All went well with that and have not had any trouble in that area. I find it hard to sit down for long periods of time so that explains the swelly belly that gets worse in the late afternoons and evenings. Thanks to all of you for your messages - things are looking up every day! Take good care girls ;-)

I too have noticed that I'm feeling much more emotional and have the urge to cry at the drop of a hat. I only taking 1 black cohash and 1 evening primrose oil with a fish oil tablet - no HRT yet, doc said I could bump up to 2 black cohash if needed. I wonder if that will help with the "warm surges" and emotion thing?? FYI - I have a couple of square flax seed pillows that I keep in the icebox and I use them in the evening or when I'm sitting at the table and it seems to help with the belly pain and swelling.

Hey everyone. 15 days post op today. I am still doing pretty well. Gas pain is finally settling down or coming out easier, however you want to look at it. I still like my afternoon nap but come to think of it I have always liked an afternoon nap - lol. I go for my 2 week post-op tomorrow. It will be nice to hear that things are healing nicely. I think my biggest problem is that I think I should be 100% and I dont know why I am doing this to myself. Maybe it is because I dont have an incision to remind me. I just wish I would stop beating myself up and realize it will probally be another month before the aches stop. Someone slap me please.

I am feeling pretty good, but my body still tells me when I have overdone it. I started spotting today and that kind of upset me. I hope I'm not one of those that have mini periods--it's possible since they didn't take my cervix. The doc just kept saying I'm so young that she felt like it would be best for me to keep my ovaries and cervix as long as possible now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have just had everything removed so I know I won't have anymore problems. I know I don't want to have another surgery!
