Hey kitty - I'm with you. I still get achy in my abdomen and also had a TVH on 4/19. I keep thinking it's my imagination, but it's definitely there especially if I have just tried to lift something that I shouldn't. Even walking too far can bring on the cramps. I'm also suffering from the fatigue aspect. I'm burned out by about 4:00 p.m. Other than all of that, I'm glad to be on the other side of recovery for sure. Did anyone else have a burst of bleeding at about 3 weeks? Scared me half to death, but I guess it's not abnormal. I passed a small clot and the bleeding lightened up after that to nothing now. I took it as a sign that I wasn't taking it very easy. Bye for now sisters...

Tip - Thank you, I needed to see that I'm "not alone" - I think that's the wonderful thing about this board, we're all "not alone". Didn't have the bleeding thing that you talked about. I hear you, 4pm and it's time for the couch. Luckily I had no problem taking three weeks off from work, and last week and this week I'm doing half days. And I have a job (office) where I sit most of the day, that helps! Best to you Tip and everyone else out there in Hyster land

So now I'm 3 weeks and 4 days post-op. I guess I'm feeling pretty good. I am not so tired that I need to nap, don't get me wrong, most activities tire me, but they don't wipe me out, and my pain is very minimal. I guess that's why I panic a little when I do have some increased pain. I'm on no pain killers, except for 400 mg. of Motrin at bedtime. My spotting has stopped and my "funky smell" has decreased a bit. I'm sleeping a little better. My appetite isn't up to par just yet, and most foods taste "off" to me. I really don't exert myself too much and I haven't driven much because it still makes me sore. Getting up and down too much makes me sore, as does the constant up and down the stairs. My moodiness seems to be getting better. I am dealing with some sharp pains in my lower left side that I'm not sure about. I'm sure it's normal healing stuff, but sometimes it worries me. I don't see the dr. until May 21. I sometimes think about going back to work next week, but other times I think about taking advantage of the opportunity to hang out at home and relax. DH thinks I should be doing a little more to get my body used to activity again. I really don't do too much, so maybe I should. I don't mean to push myself. But at least be a bit more active. I do the laundry (DH or kids carry laundry up the stairs) and I empty and load the dishwasher. DH puts the high stuff away and I do the rest. I dust but do not vacuum or scrub or mop. I sometimes wonder if I'm taking it too easy. If there is such a thing during recovery.

Grrrr.....bleeding started again. Where the heck does it come from if you're sewn up in there?? Has anyone else experienced this on and off bleeding after a TVH?

Moulton I am rolling on the floor with your make believe vagina routine . It kind of made me think of boob sex.
You guys really make me smile. Someone slap me I am still laughing. I vote for moulton as the most creative.

Now I am starting to wonder why DH isnt rubbing on me. HMMM!!

I had a great 2 days till yesterday. My butt was hurting again. It sure does make me crabby. Today was a better day though. I got my hair foiled and cut today and that always makes me feel good. The $170 bill I could live without though.

This is what I'm doing to. I find if I do too much activity then I get really sore and my stomach will cramp. There will be time for work. All the chores will still be there when you are recovered. I have started walking outside to get my body ready for more activity. I'm 4wks and 1day post-op. It is amazing how tired you get so quickly! Overall, I'm taking it easy and enjoying my time off

nclsh, I think I know what you mean about feeling like something's falling out or at least like there's an odd sensation of things being out of place or lower than before. I'm curious if I'm just experiencing this because I've been doing too much or if it's always going to feel this way. I'll take it easy and see what the doc says at my post - op. Anyone else notice this??

Easterlily - are you walking at all? that helped me, about two days after surgery I started taking walks around my neighborhood - short walks, and it helped. I'm back at work now, week two back at work, I had a TVH so was home three weeks... but honestly, could have used at least four. Being back at work (short days this week and last) do wear me out - and make me ACHY down there. But I've been assured by my GYN and my PCP (who also had a hyst a couple of years ago) that it's all normal. Here's to us feeling better and getting stronger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Week 4 of VH one ovarie left

It sure has been nice reading everone's posts. I am still spotting, cramping when I have over done it, and having that feeling that everything is going to fall out of me. Glad to hear others have that feeling as well. Also think it is odd that some times it feels like I am having menstral cramps when there isn't anything there to cramp. I do remember reading weeks back that it has something to do with never endings. I haven't seen my surgeon since a week after surgery and won't see him until exactly six weeks out. I notice that when I walk to fast it feels like things are pulling away internally and thats when it feels like everything is going to fall out (odd). It is nice to hear that you all are doing well, wish that I was slightly interested in whoopie with my DH but it was painful before so I am a little scared as to how it will be now. Count yourself blessed those of you that are dying to get it on. I also am happy to take the full six weeks before going back to work. I teach second grade and most of my class has high social emotional needs. I am just now starting to miss them but glad to take the extra time to heal. I need to be in tip top shape because I can't go back half time. I truly don't know how I would have made it through these last few weeks without you all. You have all been such a great support in such a lonely place! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I hope this finds you all well and hopefully feeling a little better each and everyday. It sure took a long time to really care about anything else but reading hystersister two or three times a day. Congrats to all you that have turned the corner keep posting so those of us who are taking a little longer to heal have something to look forward to. Hope you all have a great day!

Tinkerbell, we had our surgery the same day! Yes regarding the cramps!!! I was talking to my PCP last night (she too had a hyst about two years ago) and she agreed 'what's with the cramping?' and there's nothing there left to cramp!
This board is wonderful, I agree. It's amazing how many of us are out there.
You definately need 6 weeks if you are a teacher and THUS on your feet most of the day. Luckily I have a sit-down most-of-the-time job. But yes, by the end of the day - tirrrrred! Here's to us all.
