FYI, I was/am having that tampon/air/swelly gina thing too and they had me go in and do a UA to rule out a bladder infection. Don't have a bladder infection, but the told me to push the water - test showed that I was getting dehydrated in the afternoons/evenings. I have felt a little better since up'ing the H20. Also, someone else posted that it can be caused by constipation - I agree it does feel somewhat like full bowel helping to cause the pressure. I hope everyone is continuing to heal and feel better and I thank you all so much for the wonderful support and sharing of information. So glad this site is here for us ;-D

Today was the fist full day back to work. The day was long! I am still having an issue with consipation so I guess I will have to go back to MOM which I was hoping I could use something else that didn't taste so bad but I tired Miralax and it doesn't seem to be working. DH and I did the deed and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't hurt. Definitely plan on taking it slow though. I do feel I am getting better everyday just wish there was something easier to do for the constipation thing.

Today was my 4 week visit. I had lots of issues and concerns for the dr. constipation, brain fog, mood swings (kept ovaries) and not being able to sleep. She insists that none of these issues can be related to my surgery since I kept my ovaries and I am 4 weeks out. I take 2 fiber 3x day, 2 stool softeners 3x day and 2 gas pills 3x day just to be able to go once every 2 to 3 days!!! Not only that I have lost 29lbs since surgery and I am queasy all the time. Again the queasiness couldn't possibly be related. I am just so frustrated with her. Basically her advice was continue meds to make me go, push water and anything else I could think of to make me go. She took a couple vials of blood just to pacify me to check hormone levels, but she told me at 39 I was waaaay to young for menopause. Other than different sleeping pills she had no clue to help with sleep. I can't sleep with 10mg of ambien or 2 benadryl already. Do you think something else is really going to do the trick. Up until today this dr has been great. I left feeling like I was nuts

5 weeks and counting!

It has been 5 weeks for me yesterday.

I went to doctor last week for my 4 week post op and I guess I am not healing internally as well as the DR would have liked. He told me 4 more weeks before I can return to work.

He did an internal exam and came out with a pile of stitches on his finger. Kind of freaked me to see all of them. I tend to forget that there are still so many internal stitches.

Dr. told me that I can do what I like as long as it is in moderation, but no sex for 4 more weeks. Which is fine with me, thinking it is going to be so painful. But, not to worry DH is patient and concerned with my well being. Besides, we have been creative along the way!

Dr. also advised me to start back slowly and work my stamina back up.

I have driven a few times but only for short distances. I am still so achy in my abdomen. I do hope that this will also go away soon.

Other than that, trying to do lots of walking and getting out as much as I can to feel normal!

Glad to read that many of you are doing so well and resuming your lives as normally as you can!

Oceanzwisper ... was it your gyno you went to see, or your family doctor? I would go and see your family doctor at this point. He/she may be able to help you out. I still have bouts of nausea and lots of brain fog, but no issues with constipation. The day after my TAH I had watery diarrhea which last for almost 2 weeks ... after that no problems. However, I make sure I am drinking plenty of water and trying to walk as much as my body will allow me; along with eating lots of salads, etc. Perhaps your ovaries are "sleeping" and they will kick back in, soon. For the past 3 or 4 years there will be about 4 or 5 nights (in a row) per month that I just can't sleep ... figured out it was hormonal as it happened at approximately the same time each month in my cycle. Will be interesting to see if it still happens. I kept myovaries, too. Anyway, best of luck. I go back to work, too, next week.

5 Weeks Out I have to say this week has been my best. My energy is back, for the most part, and that lower-achy feeling has subsided, for the most part. Feeling really good. Raisin bran every morning, oh yes, that's still very necessary. Will we have these issues forever now? Also a mild laxitive when needed. For you with night sweats - I suffered from these even well before surgery, I swear by 2400 fish oil a day - within about two weeks my nightsweats stopped. I know it's the fish oil because the first week after surgery I got out of my vitamin habit and the sweats started - a few days back on the fish oil, and no more. Also remember it's so important to take Vit D for your bones, you cannot get enough of it. I have one more week before I can "do the deed"... I'm ready! He's ready - and thank God he's been quite patient!
Best to all my Hystersisters, this site is such a blessing. BronxKitty!

Today was better than yesterday as far as work goes. I had to go to the store at lunch to get some MOM. I took some but no movement yet. Beginning to wonder if it will ever work again. Didn't sleep much last night and am tired today so hope I can sleep tonight. I guess surgery affects all of us differently. Congrats to all of you that have sex drives--wish surgery would have given me one back. Keep healing ladies.

The last 2 days my butt ache hasnt been as bad. I have been having much more productive poops which is a good sign. I think I am back to my pre-surgery tiredness as opposed to my post surgery tiredness. I have never been one of those people with boundless energy.

nclsh - I am always *****. I was wondering if after the surgery I would still be ***** and yes I am - lol. I am counting the days to the 6 week mark - woohoo. I will let you all know if everything still works down there when the deed is done. Isnt it amazing how we all talk about poop and sex so easily on here. I love you guys.

Today was my 6 week f/u (a couple days early). He did the internal check thing. He was shocked and very happy to see how healed up I was and couldn't feel any stitches. Whew! Playing soccer mom to 2 kids and chasing a toddler all day I have not been that good of a girl!!

I still get pretty tired and poop out around 4pm. I had a LAVH (no ovaries). When I overdo it I get tired, pain across my belly button and faint spotting. I'm dealing with "warm surges" a few times a day. I've only had one cry spell so far. The worst is the insomnia!! I've been taking a lot of herbals which I think has helped limit menopause symptoms. My OB really twisted my arm into trying 2 weeks of Enjuvia. He's afraid I'm masking my symptoms instead of dealing with them. I'm just real glad menopause has been fairly nice to me so far. I think I'm going to have to hit up my GP and see if I can something to help me sleep. I don't function when I'm underslept!

I sure hope everyone else heals up. I don't write often anymore but I sure do enjoy reading peoples updates. BTW, I printed out a copy of the list of ?s to ask at the 6wk f/u. It was wonderful to have along; helped tremendously!!
