to multon, and everybody else

I am doing well, except can't think and am tired. Had lots of projects planned for this week. Do think my antierior repair is most annoying- at least I could tinkle well enough to get rid of the catheter. All I am sure of with A & P, particularly, is try really hard not to get constipated. heading to bed, hoping to have a better brain tomorrow-

I had TVH on 4/18 and came home the next day. I went into the operating room crying and the nurse was very nice and had prayer with me. I wanted a spinal and they gave it to me but it wouldn't take after 1hr so they gave me general anesthesia. When I woke up I was in my room already. I don't remember the recovery room. I had a catheter and on morphine drip. Had to wget up and walk by by 12:30 am and I felt dizzy and threw up the mylanta they gave me. By 6am I told them to take me off the morphine drip, took the catheters out, peed a lot, and refused percocet. I felt wonderful. I was home by 2:30 pm. I have gas pains the next day, and was constipated the day after that. I finally movedbowels yesterday and I feel like a new woman. I am just taking it easy and relaxing, drinking lots of water. Thank you all for your prayers...It made a difference.

I have had the same problem with the IV site at my arm. No bruises, just soreness along the vein area. My sister also experienced this problem when she was being treated for other medical issues. Mine isn't very bad pain, just a little tender.

Thanks CEG17GRM for letting me know I'm not the only one. Mine isn't sore to touch just a dull ache and my hand feels a little swollen. I guess it just needs time to heal. Having a bad day today really sore and painful when I move--have definitely overdone it but today doing absolutely nothing!

I am such an idiot. DHis off running some errands and I felt totally nasty and wanted a shower...so I took one. One would think that at nearly a week out and off of pain meds, a shower wouldn't be such a big deal. Holy smokes. I was able to get dried off, comb my hair and throw on underclothes and am so weak now. When do we get our energy back? Taking a shower shouldn't wear you out for the day!

I know what you mean, but I use it to my advantage when I have trouble falling asleep. If I can't seem to go to sleep, I jump in the hottest shower and just stay there till I'm sure that I'm about to drop. Works better than sleeping pills. I'm feeling pretty fortunate that my pain is not been bad at all! I don't know about the energy part of it because I am definately not energetic yet, very strange for me to have no energy and still have problems sleeping. It doesn't seem to add up does it?

I am glad to know that I am not the only one with no energy.

I seem to wake up in the middle of every night and can't go back to sleep for 2-3 hours...then when I do...I sleep hard. Although I am trying to rest, I am also trying to avoid taking naps during the day at this point, just so I can sleep at night. Anyone else experiencing this a week after surgery?

I am so glad to know that I have several weeks before I have to go back to work. Even though I am doing nothing, I still seem to be overdoing it, so bedrest today..I am very sore.

You all are in my prayers for a speedy recovery!

I keep waking up at night and then being so awake I can't get back off, mega uncomfortable, I hate sleeping on my back and sleeping on my side makes it hurt so much.
Today I had half of the 46 clips taken off, painless becasue I was so numb. I just feel so emotional today and really really fed up.

I am going on 50 hrs post op. I am taking vicitin, its mispelled, sorry, every 3 hrs. 2 tab. then i switch to strong ibprofin. I really dont have any pain, I dont like it has been making me feel, i guess depressed or something. the viccitin is. They say to keeptaking your meds even f you have no pain, iif you quit you could lose control of your pain oMega 3 fish oil is a pain reliever and anti/inflamantory. Ive done it before. I had gas terribly, got in the fridge .
drank a sip of vinegar and my gas was gone just like that. prayers and hugs

Oh yeah! I'll have a little energy and feel like doing some simple mundane task and then I'm in tons of pain and exhausted. What a roller coaster ride this. I would love to go to bed & sleep there for more than 2 hours in a row. Its so hard to shift around in bed though, the abdominal incision is very restrictive, but I'm at Day 8 and its definitely improving.

Good luck girls!! My fingers are crossed and my prayers said for you all!
Uneventful recovery, uneventful recovery...please let us all have one of those!!
