I posted elsewhere that I called the Doctors office yesterday because I am also getting prickly pains in my urethra and was getting extra discharge, they put me on a 2 day course (must be powerful) of 2 types of antibiotic to treat UTI and infection and asked me to call back this morning first thing with an update. I had also asked for a refill of my vicodin but there was not one there so I am not sure he is going to refill it and I still need that at night for definite.

I did take my first outing since leaving hospital with my stepsons gf to Walgreens to get the meds and pick up a couple of things, I used my crutches and I am really glad I did or I would not have made it round the store. It was pretty funny, usually when we are out shopping she is struggling to keep up with me, this time I was having to ask her to slow down. So I got a taste of my own medicine! It felt good to be out of the house and lifted my spirits to be out in the world for a short time, but I REALLY hurt after I got home.
i had hyster 4/23. After the 14 day mark i am doing really good. i walked 2 miles yesterday at one time, at a med pace. it did not hurt me. I take the vicodin, at night, it keeps me up al night. last night i had a sleeping pill with it, it just made it worse, so i did not get any sleep last night. good luck

Oh and I've had 3 episiotomies with my 3 deliveries so there was tons of scar tissue so my doc cut all that out too...kinda scared me at first but really it's healed easier than after having my children.
seems like after the 14th day everyting is going much better, the bm also. At the end of the day when i lay in bed it seems like things hurt a little bie. i wonder why that is, maybe its the gravity thing. i did walk 2 miles yesterday at once. i did great. i was walking 4 or more before the surg. so i have a goal. i am an active 53 year young good luck on your recovery

Hi Josephine
My incision opened up a little, too. My Dr. gave me some antibiotics and it has nearly stopped oozing, but it is a setback just the same. It makes me afraid to move around too much for fear it will re-open. Just make sure you have no infection.

I can walk longer than I used to, but I think 2 miles would still be too much right now. For me, the 2nd week was the most difficult and painful. Now that I'm in the 3rd week I'm starting to feel better. Of course the iron pills help a lot. But now I have a nasty cold. Hurts when I cough. I haven't used my Oxycodone in a while, but I put it away in case I have a really bad day. I take Tylenol now, and I don't even take it every day. Though I should, because at the end of the day I still find my stomach to be sore. The incision is healing very well. I don't feel like I have to hold my stomach all the time, but I'm still keeping my abdominal binder. Finally I am able to sleep on my stomach. Thank God. That was hard for me because I hate having to sleep on my back. So far no vaginal bleeding at all. It will still be a while before I felt like I used to, but I can now feel myself feeling more like I used to. Next week is my post op. My gallbladder incisions are doing well because they took it out using Lap surgery. I can now eat so much better without the food feeling like it's in my stomach all night long. I'm still careful what I eat, though. Oh, and I've now lost 10 pounds since the surgery.

Checking in. I am doing well, I never took any pain meds but I had a LAVH...not terribly invasive. I am still resting most of the day, but I have done Wally World with hubby. I have to rest after a lot of activity and am still afraid to move quickly at all. Each day is better and that is all that counts for me! I have noticed I have quite a different appetite than before surgery. I am eating less, and craving significantly less sugar...what a great side affect! I guess that must be do to a change in hormones, who knows. I was able to keep one ovary.

Hope everyone is recoving well.

I had a blood test and a culture done, no infection. I'm surprised by how much fluid is leaking from the incision. I have to keep gauze pads on it at all times. The more I do, the more oozing, so I'm still taking it easy.
This makes it a lot harder to get back to any activity at all.

I have been extremely tired today and also feeling a bit sick, it has not been hard to do absolutely nothing today and I put that down to the antibiotics I am on, at least the blood in the urine has stopped. I got a real telling off from my Doctors office for doing too much and I didn't think I was, so I am being much more careful. They told me there is plenty of time for getting better.
