Angie,

I guess I never just wanted to settle, that is why it is taking me a long time to find Mr. Right. But if it meant to be, it will be. I imagine the whole dream. White picket fence. Of course no children but I have lots of nieces. I don't need a mansion to be happy. Just a guy that really loves me and who I really love back.

So <drum roll> primary Dr. has taken me off one of 2 bp meds I have been on for 8 years. Amazing the effects of removing chronic pain can have on blood pressure!

Hugs and positive energies to all,

Crystal, that is wonderful news. Cellulitis is hard to get rid of. I'm so glad you were able to. My aunt has it. As for your blood pressure, that is also wonderful. Wish my BP would go down so I could get off of one of my pills. I went to the dr. today and it was 112/90.

My primary dr. looked at my scar. He said it was healing very well. Better than expected. I'm happy about that. He thought I had a vertical hyst because the scar across my stomach looks like an imprint of my shorts. I have to go back for blood tests, but I'm used to that.

I had a bad accident about a week ago. At night I have these Night Terrors. Have you ever heard of them? They are nighmares only scarier than you could imagine. Well, while I was having one I fell off my bed. I was face to face with the floor and my stomach was sore for a while. I was worried I tore something inside, but so far things seem ok.
What did happen is that I hit the corner of my left eye on my paper shredder. It's been throbbing and hurting ever since. My primary dr. looked at it today. He didn't seem too worried. I go to my regular dr. in a few days. Then he can look at it. My left eye is my good eye. Well, it was until I fell. My right eye has retina problems. I go to the eye dr. every 4 to 6 weeks. Had cataract surgery in 03. In 05 a retina specialist had to operate on the retina. It looks like they might have to operate on it again. Surgery doesn't take long, but you can't do anything. Literally. The instructions are worse than the hyst was.

Anyway, enough of my problems. I'm so happy for you.

Robin,

Sorry to hear about your fall.

Well, I can only say I am beginning to feel like my old self. My energy is coming back and I feel good. I do still go to bed around 8 PM (very tired). When I feel sore it is on the sides of the incision almost by the hips. Anybody else feeling soreness there? It is not real bad but just achiness when I do a lot of walking.

My only problem right now is that the yeast infection I got 3 1/2 weeks ago is back so the doc has given me something else to try now.

When I called the doc the nurse mentioned that next week when I go for my 6 week check up the doc will stick something in me to see my vag. cuff. She sounded like it could be uncomfortable. Anybody know about this??

HI EVeryone.......

Just checking in with an update. I am doing OK....recovery is slow....my incision is better each day as far as pain goes and I am healed totally and using mederma and cocoa butter and vitamin e cream.....
I saw dermatologist today for another issue and she looked at incision and she said to just keep rubbing that stuff in as it will definately soften it.

I still find I sometimes have that bladder pressure feeling but NOT all the time so assume it is just healing process like the DR says it is !!! I also find when I am UP STANDING too long or doing TOO much or even walking too much that things feel like they wanna fall out.
I just hope everything goes back to normal.

I still cant stand any thing binding around my belly so am still in my HUGE panties and HUGE pants !!! lololol.....I want my old clothes back !!!!!

I had my 4 week check up last MOnday and she/Dr did an internal on me so I dont know what your nurse is talking about Helti...........It was just a normal internal exam.....I was scared it would hurt but it didnt. I go back on June 18th and expect she will "LOOK" again.

I will be 5 weeks this Thursday so hopefully each week that goes by will be better than the last !! I can FINALLY sleep a little on my side !!! Thats exciting !!!

Hope evryone is doing OK and look forward to your update and posts !!

OK, thanks ladies.
I must have misunderstood something.

Kathi, I still wear my big undies and loose pants too. Don't like anything on my belly either. It is still a little sore and sensitive to the touch. The swelling has gone down a bit. Hurrahhh!!!! My "ledge" over the incision is not quite as wide.

Hi everyone,

I am 5 weeks post-op today. I had a TAH and they also found tons of endometriosis as well. I had lots of large orange size tumors.

I am wondering how long it is supposed to take for the upper internal vaginal pain/discomfort/burning to go away? I am also very tender in the belly to the touch. Getting sharp pains mostly on my right side. I am exhausted......though I have ebbs and flows of energy. Some days seem much better than others. I also seem to be having hot flashes and night sweats........they were able to keep my oavries so how long does it take to get them working again? How high is the possibility that they many not work again?

I go upstairts once every other day........hoping to increase it once a day. My art studio is up there. I was soooooooooooooo bored and wanted so badly to go up there. So I slowly waddled up each step, started about a week ago. I hope at 4 weeks that was OK. My nurse at the doctor's office wanted me to wait 8 weeks! Everything I have read seems to state much sooner than that.

This has been a lot harder than I anticipated. Many friends assume I should be almost healed by now and make comments that really irritate me! How do you deal with that?? Everyone assumes that at 5 weeks I am ready for real life once again. Not even close!! When I have pain they don;t understand. I even had a dear friend ask if they could be *phathom pains*...meaning, in my head. *sad*

I'm doing the best I can. I expected to bounce back quickly and have a lot less pain. The pain is much more than I thought it would be!!

Hello Helti,
My sides hurt exactly at the same spots you are talking about. My stomach is fine, but my sides ache where my ovaries were taken out. Usually they hurt at night after a long day. I'm so glad you are feeling better. I'm finally feeling better too. Without worrying about having a period, I can do stuff I couldn't before. I always had to work my schedule around my period. Now I don't have to do that anymore.

Sorry to hear about your yeast infection. I used to get them all the time, but I had to stop using the Monistat cream because it burned so much. I know they have a one day pill now, but I never tried it.

Yes, I do know what they are talking about at your 6 week checkup. Same thing I have to have. The vaginal cuff, if I have this right, is where the cervix ends and the uterus starts. When they take the uterus out, they have to stitch it up. What the dr. will do is see how the stitches are doing. See if they are starting to dissolve or are holding up. I'm going to take a couple of Tylenol before I go to the dr. to have my exam. I don't know if it hurts or not, but I'm not taking the chance. I also have to have a pap smear while I'm there. I try to get the drs. to use the smalled speculum they have. But even then, paps always hurt. I don't know how much it's going to hurt when they check my stitches inside.

This will be my 2nd post op exam. Then I have another one in six months. I don't know if the gyn/surgeon will send me back to my primary dr. after that or not, but I prefer her doing the paps.

Hope this helps you.

Robin
