I suggest you call Dr as soon as you can for the yeast infection. There is an RX pill you can take called Diflucan that clears that up quickly without putting anything in vag. Good Luck!

I was feeling better. My boyfriend had to go to the hardware store. He dropped me off at target next door. I didn't do anything strenous. Just picked up a few cards. I checked out and waited outside for him on a bench. I decided to walk over to the car, and I couldn't make it. It wasn't even that far! I couldn't believe it. I still wear sweats and yoga pants. I have pressure and pain when I pee. Maybe I'm going up and down the stairs too much. I am so glad I have all you ladies! Every time I come on here there is something that I am going through too! I don't know exactly how they check the stitches inside. Maybe they have some kind of gadget they use that can tell if inside is healing or not. I took my steri strips off I think at week 3 or 4. Three had already fallen off by themselves. I don't have any kind of discharge at all. Then again, I haven't been picking up anything or doing anything strenuous. I know it's frustrating when they tell you to take it easy, but I keep myself busy by doing stuff around the house. When I was in the hospital I did a lot of walking. Maybe that helped. But when I have to pee, I can't hold it very long. I usually need to find a bathroom pretty quick. I wear shorts most of the time because I'm not taking any HRT and I want to keep myself as cool as possible. I go back to the gyn on June 7th for my 2nd post op checkup. I think I also have a 6 month checkup. My primary dr. saw my scar today and he said it healed very well. He almost couldn't find it, except that it is still red. Doesn't hurt, though. He said the surgeons did a good job with the incision. I have a horizontal scar. When I wear pants, I love the sweatpants because they are so comfortable. Sometimes the band around the pants will bother my scar. It's not as bad, though, as it used to be.

Shelly,

Call the doc. I called my doc yesterday (even though I see him on the 4th) because I got my second yeast infection. The first time (2 weeks pre op) the doc gave me the pill Diflucan. Yesterday he gave me a cream and told me to put it in very carefully. It did'nt hurt to put in. I was VERY careful. I hope it works this time. I hate the itching.

I had a bad back aches too for a while but it is going away. I took Tylenol PM at night to sleep better and stuffed a small pillow behind my back. It helped. Try the pillow thing. It still hurts when I sleep on my back so I don't do that any more.

I had a 4 week check with a vaginal cuff check and was really worried it would hurt. It was no more uncomfortable than before surgery, mostly just annoying. I didn't have a TAH but a LAVH, so I don't know if this matters or not. What is bugging me now is I feel great and still can't lift! I have so many things I want to do, my mom is having a garage sale and I want to bring stuff down, but can't lift and my hubby is working all week. I know after six weeks I can lift, but did anyone's doctor say if you can lift normal weights or do we need to gradually increase the weight?

My Dr cleared me to do 5 lb dumbell curls, in bed or sitting only. Its not much but keeps definition in my arms and helps beat the duldrums. I feel the same way as far as wanting to move, but know its a just a couple of more weeks. Best to ya!~

I also get those aches where my ovaries used to be.....I wonder what that is??????
I had the horizontal cut. Funny that other ladies have the ovary pain too. I have my ovaries so the achiness makes sense in my case but if you don't have them any more.....HMMM!!! Good question for the doc.

Have a good day.

Hi Doneit,
Yep, lower back pain is from weakened abdominal muscles so the back takes up the slack. A heating pad to the back may help. Resting with tummy supported helps. Do you have a tummy binder? If not, your local pharmacy should have them in the same isle as the knee and wrist supports. They are so worth the cost.
Yeast infections can be treated with a one dose pill, fluconazole. That's what my Dr. gave me.

Hope this helps.
Hugs,
Crystal

Do any of you subscribe to update articles on this website? I just ready the checkpoint article for 5-6 weeks and found it to be very informative. It told me what to expect at my post-op check-up next week and some tips for easing back into normal activities. It also gives some abdominal exercizes you can do (with Dr approval of course!) There is a prety good list of the common questions you might want to ask Dr at that appt. and there are sidebars with other tidbits. I followed the link to menopause symptoms and saw a list of what you feel like when estrogen is too high, too low, same with progesterone and testosterone.
Here is the link to that page if you are interested: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/view_postop56.htm

I am still taking it easy most of the time but get bursts of energy. I want to do more than I am doing, I start out and only get so far and wow, the time has flown. So I know I am still slower than I was before.

I get frequent yeast infections and don't even bother with OTC remedies anymore. I go to Dr and get the one pill to take. It works every time and no mess. I never remember the name of it though, so ask Dr about a pill you can take. That way you get relief and still nothing in the vagina.

Slow and sure is the path to recovery,
Jane
