Hi Ladies yeh I understand about no appetite I wake up nauseus nearly every day it wears of after couple of hours then I just pick at food through the day.
I am starting to walk around the yard but only slowly.
I had a quarter of my bowel and my appendix removed the same time as my hysterectomy so recovery little bit slower than normal but improving slowly.
Thanks Jen

Went to the doctor today - she confirmed what I suspected; that the mild but persistent headaches I've had since just over a week post-op are likely to be due to a fall in oestrogen. In my case, that's to be expected as my ovaries were removed, but I gather it can also be due to a sort of post-op "shock" due to handling ovaries during surgery. In my case, she reckons the body does get used to it, though it may take up to 6 weeks, so for now I'm going to just wait & see, as I've not yet had any hot flushes or other symptoms. It's a bit of a pain though as otherwise I feel much better than I have for months!

Hi All,
Sharing your frustration at our limitations. Yesterday was great, I took my Mother for a walk to a local restuarant on the water only 1 block away , We sat there for almost 2 hours walked home...and about 5:30 last night it HIT me. I have been suffering all day. It just felt so good . Now I understand that there will be good and bad days.
I too am grateful for this site and all of you.
Restful days and nights to all of you.

Katzz3, I have felt the same way. I have been so very tired the last two days and am still hurting when I pee. Tomorrow will be my 3 week post-op visit and I am excited to hear from the DR how I have progressed but wonder how long the pain from my bladder will last. If you can work from home, instead of going to your work place, that would be so nice, that way you can take breaks and lay down if needed! Best wishes, Poohtie.

Discharge, is this normal

Came home from work early today, just didnt feel right, and notice after taking off my work clothes I have a brownish red discharge. This is the most I have seen since the surgery. In addition, Im having pains on the right side where my ovaries are.
Im in my third week and should be feeling better, not worse? Anyone else have this? I dont want to go back to the dr., Im so sick of having my crotch looked at by everyone else but my DH.

pcbabe - I've had the discharge to on and off for the past couple of days. Finally called the doctor today - he said it is to be expected. As long as there are no other symptoms, not to worry. I don't go back until Tuesday (it will be 4 weeks for me then.) My friend and gyn nurse said I was probably over doing it - maybe that is what is happening with you. Put your feet up and rest - you deserve it - back to work and all!!!

Have been really emotional the last couple of days I seem to have a pattern of good day bad day.
I think I was getting worked up from being constipated as I had bowel surgery as well I could do without it.
Just spoke to the Nurse and she said it is normal for someone after surgery to have constipation then diarrhea and this could go on for months. She said I need to be patient and relax?

Other symptoms would include fever, passing clots and severe pain - not the same pain/achiness that we all seem to get on and off. It always seems scary until you realize someone else is going through it. Then the DR validates that it is normal - make you feel relived (at least I did) - hope your weekend goes better. Raining here now - time for pj's and a little down time!
