Any suggestions on getting energy/strength/stamina built back up? I am starting to feel like a hypochondirac because this is just not me!
For myself, I asked my DR about vitamin supplementation and fish oil and exercise. I had been and still get tired, but have found that following my DR's advice on using a good multivitamin and fish oil have helped. I try to walk to improve my stamina and walk a little faster each time. My DR did approve lifting weights but I haven't had the nerve yet to try it. I am gonna wait another 2 weeks after my pelvic exam (which I think will be about a 6 week post-op visit) and let the DR check my incisions and make sure they are healed well before I begin any strenous activities. You may want to call your DR and ask what he/she would suggest. The tiredness really took me by suprise. I had no idea that I would be so tired and that it would last so long!

Good Morning! I am glad to hear I'm not the only one with new aches appearing. I thought I was doing great and then wham yesterday I hurt all over. I am alot better today. Still a few twinges I haven't had before, but not hurting as bad today. I'm going to run around with my DH today and maybe go see the new Kevin Costner movie. You all have a great day!

Me too! Funny little aches and twinges that I never noticed before. I think what may be happening is that most of the swelling, numbness and bloating have disappeared and now we are feeling what is REALLY going on inside our bodies. It seems to be a gentle reminder that we still need to take it easy and be careful!

Happy Saturday Sisters
Yesterday was four weeks for me I am feeling pretty good although I have to agree the fatigue hits me like a brick wall. Something I am not used to either, I love to be on the go and now I just feel SLOW! I am looking forward to my six week check up! I hope to be able to resume my Yoga, it is a great exercise if any of you have not tried it. I think I will try to go grocery shopping today My DH has been doing that job all alone and I think I am ready to accompany him. I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. Looks like we are in for some thunderstorms here!

Blessed Morning to all,
Feels like I have been home alot longer than 4 weeks and 4 days, How about every else?
I have been looking through the site and I can't believe how detailed it is. Questions I never thought to ask are there and so much informative. I looked at new postings yesterday and was moved to see all the gals who are checking in the castle today .
Thank you all for listening to my ramblings and all the wonderful feedback.
I went with Dh yesterday to Home Depot to get Hurricane ready . It was a four hour adventure, I was getting pretty tired and couldn't wait to get in the truck and just sit, after a 40 minute drive (rest) home I actually felt pretty good! DH escorted me in the house and warmed up left overs for dinner. He is ready for me to back to normal but is still treating me like a princess, he gets irritated when he sees me doing things on the edge of what I shouldn't. He recovered from an organ transplant 9 years ago and is also taking on the added responsibility of helping me with my Alzehimer's Mom who lives nect door. I feel so GUILTY, he hasn't REALLY complained , but his plate is full .
My co-workers were shocked when my Dr. has me out an extra week -7 in total before he will even let me go back to work. I got ALOT of flack from them, I was disappointed in a few for their attitude. I REALLY think that my OBGYN who is also my surgeon (friend) wanted me to have a little extra time because he knows the care giver in me, and what an A type personality I am.
Sorry to ramble, just needed to talk.
Happy Monday to all.

I am going for my 4 week follow up this morning. And honestly dreading it! I know there is something wrong! I have been just sucking up the pain because it was self induced! But it does need to be addressed! I don't think my toes should hurt when I pee!
I'll let you know how it goes!

Good morning all!
5 weeks today and I feel great. Still fatigued by the end of the day though. I see Dr. tomorrow and expect to be released, and return to work next Monday. Ready to thank DH for his patience and kindness. Libido is definitely ready to be released! I hope I am not being too optimistic.

Have not posted much here, but have read EVERYTHING. Thanks to all for sharing your experiences and suggestions. Hope you all start feeling your best soon.

Is anyone getting pain in their abdomen suddenly at 4 weeks? Mine feels tender from the incision right up to my belly button & is worse later in the day + when I've been more active. Also, I can feel a sort of lumpiness in a line from the incision up to my belly button & another a little to the right, both of which seem to be where the pain is focused. I don't think its muscle damage, as I can pull in my tummy muscles without it feeling worse, but I'm not sure. I had TAH with transverse incision. I've been driving for the past week & wonder if that has anything to do with it, although I'm not uncomfortable while driving. Apart from that, I'm feeling fine tho' still tired by lunch time. Can anyone reassure me that I haven't done something dire to my abdominal muscles??

Good morning ladies! 4 weeks 4 days po. Doing pretty good except all of a sudden this last week constipation has set in. I am taking my stool softners 2x per day but I have had to take a laxative twice this week. I haven't been constipated in years. Any ideas why? I have been walking most days and eating like I normaly would (which is not always the best). I guess this is just another hill to climb until our bodies get back to normal.
Best wishes to all for a great day!
