I don't think mine have dissolved yet either. it was 5 weeks today. Ihave to make an appt with my gyne. tomorrow. I had to have a ct scan today and they inserted something to take the ct. There was just a little blood after this and she said it was normal. Otherwise it didn't hurt. I have to start radiation next week so want to be cleared for this. Yvonne

I don't get all this. why do you have to have radiation for a hysterectomy? When the stitches dissolve, where do they go? do they come out the vagina? Will we see them? I am 5 weeks today, also and my stitches haven't shown. I am so confused! Can someone explain all this?

Hi Everyone,
It is kinda sad to see that our chats are winding down, but that means we are on the mend and able to do more. This is such a wonderful site, our postings alone helped drasticially in my healing and concerns. I will miss this but looking forward to the "road less traveled". My DH and I took three days and drove to Tampa (6 hours) to visit dear friend who moved there and decided to have some gentle fun and we visited Busch Gardens for almost 4 hours. NO RIDES and genlte walking and train tours. WOW I was tired, still internally sore but did not pay for it today! I loved Pootie posting about no more pain. Makes look foreward to my exam next week!!! LOL
Love to you all.

I only get tired at the end of a very long day. Have been putting vitamin A on incision. I run all day long. Not literally, but seem to get in the car and go,go, go. Hope everyone's 6 week is perfect!

I had TVH. The internal stitches at the vaginal cuff discharge through the vagina. The silver nitrate treatment I had last week must be working somewhat as I have finally started to see some stitches pass. (they are blue threads 1-2 cm)

6 wks today

Hi sisters

6 weeks today and not a great day... a great weekend though- spent catching up with my best ever friend without electricity but with a few bottles of bubbly... good for the soul at times.

Visited my local Dr yesterday who told me the reason we have 6 wk checks is so the Drs can avoid all the complaining after a hyster... I had only asked about still feeling dizzy (my blood pressure was VERY low when she took it which did make me feel a little less like a hypochondriac) and a little sore after exertion (not that there's been much!). She was happy to tell me maybe I just needed to get back into my life when I told her I was feeling quiet depressed. I think I may have to change Dr's I left there feeling like I was totally useless- I have started to do most of my preop stuff but still no vaccuming and lifting my abdo is still tender at times and I'm trying to listen to my body...

Hubby's birthday Friday- Gyny visit tommorrow hopefully all clear for sex- thankyou for the last few posts- made me feel less scared and a little more excited!!

Take care of yourselves....

It will be 6 weeks for me on mon. the 18th. I see a lot of you are back at work or feeling really good . I don't feel bad but get tired easily. I know I haven't been doing much physically. I go back to my dr. tomorrow for the 6 week checkup. I should be going back to work next week but wondering if I can handle it yet. I see there are a lot of younger women and wondering if this makes a big difference. I am 61 . I see improvements but then too I do get tired easily. I haven't passed any stitches yet either. Was wondering about that too. My daughter has been here for 2 weeks helping me but she will leave to go back on fri. and that makes me kind of nervous too. She has been such a help to me. How is everyone else doing? Yvonne
