I just had my 6 week check up Doc very happy with my recovery. I had bowel surgery and my appendix out at the same time and he said I am doing well. With hot flushes I am going to see if I can live with them they are not that bad yet.

I DID "IT" !!!!!! Oh my gosh I was sooo scared. Felt like a teenager again. It did not hurt at all. No bleeding from the cuff. It was actuallly better than it has been in a long time because of no period and no pain. I was really imagining some horrible things happening. Let my imagination run away with me. It was great and Hubby is smiling today LOL. I will be 6 weeks tomorrow. I went back full time to work on Sunday. I have no pain, maybe a little soreness in the right side after alot of activity. I am still a litttle tired but I am getting back into the groove. My ovary seems to have woken up. YEA. Not really having the mood swings anymore. One thing I have noticed is that I really used to crave chocolate and salty foods all of the time because I was getting my period all of the time. Now I really havent eaten chocolate of chips etc in weeks. I think I lost a little weight but I am anti scale so I will have to wait until I go back to Doctor on 6/28. I am soo happy I happy I had this done. Its a new life. Life still isnt perfect but it is sooo much better pain free.
Hope all a well and feeling the same.

Hi everyone! I have been lurking here for quite some time. I had a TVH on May 1st and have been healing wonderfully. I had my 6 wk appt. on Monday, and my doc said there was a little granulation tissue and gave me the ol' Silver Nitrate treatment. My DH and I ventured forth for the first time last night, and surprisingly it was great. However, today I am a little sore and have read here that it seems to be common. I have noticed today some of my remaining stitches seem to be passing, but also a large piece of silvery material. Is that from the silver nitrate? Now, I'm worried that the treatment the doc just gave me isn't going to be helping if I'm discharging it (sorry, ick).

I think I'm just being overly paranoid, I'm not spotting or having any terrible pains, I just didn't think that having sex would cause that to happen. Anyone else experience anything similar?

I hear you about being tired. I just turned 36 and there are days when I can barely get out of bed! I think that has been the most challenging for me because I feel normal and I want to do things but the body constantly reminds me it is too tired to do so. I had a TVH, I am still waiting for the stiches to dissolve I don't think I have had any yet. Going to the DR on Monday so I will keep my fingers crossed! This experience has been a good lesson in learning to take care of myself, I hope you all have a wonderful day

I am sure they can just reapply the silver nitrate, My DD had to have that on her belly button when she was born and we had to do three treatments! Good Luck and happy healing

6 weeks for me!

Hello Ladies,

My disolving stitches for my cuff came out this morning! Thought is was a spider and freaked! Other than that all is well. Still get some wierd pains like cramping that last only for a short time, but I think that is to be expected since Im still in healing mode.

My appetite still isnt what it use to be, but not complaining, I always wanted to shed a few pounds.
Hope all of you are doing well...

given the OK

Hi all, I went to the doctor on Monday and was told I am healed with three stitches just kind of hanging there and that friction would knock them loose. Well after six weeks of being on the NoNo list as my fiance calls it. I assured the doctor that I could come up with the firction needed. LOL
We finally did it Monday night I had some spotting which I was told I would have because of the stitches hanging on. It wasn't painful but it was scary at first. I wasn't sure what to expect. It went well, all the important parts still fucntion and my fiance was finally happy LOL The next day I spotted lightly all day and was sore across the top of my pubic area. I did not tell my fiance this because I didn't want him to worry or feel guilty. Today I feel just fine and am ready to go see my fiance again LOL. I won't see him until Thursday so things should go much better next time. I asked him if it felt different for him, I was worried about that. He said it felt different but not in a bad way except it felt a little rough. The roughness was probably the stitches at least I hope so. It felt only a little different for me and again not in a bad way. I go back to work on Saturday day turn then work Monday and tuesday night turn. I have been trying to walk everyday to build up my endurance so i can last the 12 hour shift. I'm nervous about going back but I should do fine. The other nurses at work expected me to come back to work married, they were close I am going back engaged and I am getting married in July. I borke the news to my Ex husband today and he took it real well. LOL Have a good week Ladies.

6 weeks post op tomorrow

and to all!
I am doing better each day and am so excited about everyone's recovery here. It seems as though we are doing better as wel go and that is great!

I actually did go to the gym last nite, after 3 weeks of saying I would and chickened out. But, I did. I was not able to do my usual routine, only about 75% of it. But, I didn't hurt or have any problems, just my stamina wasn't as before, but it will get there in a few more workouts, hopefully.

I have read where several of you have posted that you have passed stitches. I had a TLAVH and haven't seen any stitches. Is this the same for any one else? My Dr didn't mention anything about seeing them pass, although I know that I received several during the surgery. Just wondering...

I am so excited that we have made it this far and we are moving on and going places, working, doing things with our friends and so forth. It is so motivating and so wonderful to have you all as my hystersisters!

Pootie, I went for my 6 wk checkup today. I asked about the stitches too because I'd seen them mentioned here many times. she said that was only with a vaginal surgery. I was relieved because I was getting worried I hadn't seen any. lol. Anyway, she said I was healing fine and released me to go back to work mon. She said the tiredness was the last to go so I guess I am about normal. Hope everyone else is doing well and on the road to recovery. Yvonne
