Is it normal to have a heavy bleeding episode 4 weeks from surgery? Glad I have pads handy! It happened pretty quick along with some clots. Now, it seems it's slowed down. I notice I had some light spotting with dissolved stitches.

Also, having terrible problems sleeping. Am trying Sominex tonight. Am afraid of prescription drugs. I miss my hormones. Am having hot flashes again.

Connie,
Have you let your physician know? This far out with clots, problably want to let him/her know about it. It is good that it is slowing down. DId you do something and then notice the bleeding afterwards?

I ended up using a prescription sleep aid to help. I have been rationing it like every other night or every 2 nights to make sure I did not become dependant. That has helped tremendously for me.

Yes, I have called my doctor and they say it is NOT normal. So, I have to go in for a look. I wonder if I have overdone and ripped some stitches?

I may wind up with prescription rx for sleeping if it doesn't get better.

Thanks,
Connie

My dr's nurse told me not to be surprised if during my recovery I got like a sudden burst of blood. She said sometimes you can get like a small hematoma that bursts and for me not to freak if that happens. I'm glad you're going to see the dr but I hope it's nothing serious!!
