I've been trying to be a good girl, stay in bed, keep the pain down. It just hasn't worked. I just got back from the doctor because I'm running a low grade fever (for over a week now). When my doc went to examine me, he was shocked at my belly bruise. I'm on antibiotics and had some blood tests run, and if I'm not better by Tuesday, I have to have a CAT scan.

Forget being paranoid. They gave us the meds for a reason. I ran around all day today. Ran to the hospital to request copy of records, eye dr. to fix glasses, b-day shopping for my sister and the bank, I AM DONE! If you don't want your painkillers, send them on
My vicodin and I are hitting the couch & watching some TV

Potter-I still take pain meds on occasion. I am saving them for when I go back to work. I am going back part time on Tuesday. I have a desk job and I figure going in for just a couple hours and then going home will be a good way to work back into a normal routine. That is of course I do not have any problems at the end of the day then I will hold off on going back to work. Aside from a little pressure I do not have much pain just get tired a little quicker than normal.

I have a question ladies-If you still have one ovary do we still need to go to the gyn for a yearly physical? I keep meaning to ask the doc. this and I forget. I LOVE my GYN. if I could see him for everything I would.

I hope everyone is feeling good!

VAL- I will say some prayers for you. I hope everything goes well. I ran a fever for several days after my surgery and had to go back into the hospital for IV antibiotics for an infection on top of the vagina. GOOD LUCK!

Jenn, thanks for sharing your experience. I did tell my GYN that I could almost feel my stitches on my cervix. That sounds like where yours was, too.

I really thought I'd be more healed by now. going to the doc absolutely exhausted me today. I'm in bed, and GLAD about it!

hey jbgraham, my dr. says that I still have to come once a year. I have 1 ovary but she says that you can get vaginal cancer - similiar to cervix cancer but it isn't common. 1 time a year is fine. I really like my dr. too.
Wow, you are going back to work soon. I hope you feel up to it. I am taking all the time off the dr. gives me - a yippeee 8 weeks!

How long have you all taken pain meds? I haven't taken anything in a day, but after the walk, I'm really achy and my back's hurting, so I think I'm going to take some ibuprofen. Is this unusual? I'm not in huge amounts of pain, just uncomfortable.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!
I haven't had much pain but usually at the end of the day I'm a bit sore. That gets better every day though. I have only been taking my pain med at night, because it makes me drowsy and after getting so much rest during the day I want to sleep all night and not mess up my normal schedule.

Hope you all are sleeping well. Hang in there!

I got stir crazy yesterday & drove down to the store to see if I could find a lose pair of jeans. I'm tired of looking like I'm in my pj's all the time.
I was gone about 1.5 hours including driving time & came home exhausted! My husband is retired so he's the housekeeper & cook. He made a nice dinner last night. I ate & laid on the sofa watching a movie & called it quits about 8pm.
At least I found some jeans!

Hi Potter - I do the same thing; walk and then feel the pain/pressure. The Motrin helps. I also forget that I'm only a little more than two weeks out myself. It's starting to get old although I guess that means I'm feeling better. I don't have a lot of pain per say (except deep down at each side, wow does that hurt.) Doctor says it's normal. If I walk too much I feel like I have really bad Braxton-Hicks contractions. Very tight and I feel like my tummy is going to fall to my knees. Although lieing down for a while helps. Keep moving and rest when you need it. We're all in this together. I don't know what I would do without this site. Doctors say very little.

TAH May 8th.
