How awful. to make it feel better.

I know that when you have experiences like you just had and it follows you like mine did, people think that you made it up, but not the people here.

This site is so wonderful because no matter what your problem is there are women who can relate to you.

I so hate that went through this,

Came home yesterday, but just now feeling well enough to get on the computer for a few minutes. I had my FAH on 5/10. I am feeling alot better than I expected. The only pain I am having is from the incision, which makes me very very happy. Hopefully the rest of the recovery will go well.

Hello ladies.I am home from my LAVH done May 11. Everything went well. I was discharged yesterday and am now settled in at home.
I am feeling pretty good, sore and tired, but better than anticipated. DH and DD's helping (God bless them!).
My friends and family are calling and stopping by, but I would just love it if they would have waited a few days. I suggest that all pre-op sisters tell thier loved ones to wait a while before calling and visiting.
I finally slept 5 hours straight!!!! That felt great. I woke up to go to the bathroom and decided I needed something for pain. This was the first time since my surgery that I didn't take something every 2 hours. Yes, I do need it!
Well, time for a nap. Bye for now.

Hi gals - It's so nice to hear from my Hyster Sisters - thanks for the lovely get well e-mail. I had a TAH on May 8th and came home on the 11th. I was ready to leave although my care in the castle was wonderful. My surgery went so smoothly the doctors were amazed; never underestimate the power of prayer! They removed a huge fibroid (grapefruit size but I don't have the specifics yet) and the amazing thing is that my lower back pain, which I've suffered with for over a year - is GONE! Who knew that the tumor was sitting on a nerve. That was worth the whole surgery. So now I'm sore (8" incicision horizontal) and tired, but doing great. It's all about being patient and healing. For those of you in waiting - just go in with a positive attitude and let the professionals do their job. They know what they're doing. Walk when you can and rest as much as possible. I'm even off the pain meds except for Motrin to keep down the inflamation. A bit consitpated but the stool softeners are beginning to help. That's been the worst part. Use lots of pillows to stay comfortable and accept any help that is offered. Gotta go, I believe I'm missing The Price is Right. LOL! I'm getting tired, so I'm signing off for now.

Best wishes to all of you who are recuperating. Many thanks for your prayers and support.

Love, Maria

Hi ladies!

Had my LAVH BSO on May 10th, this is day four of recovery and I'm feeling really good! My big Mother's Day present was my first BM !! LOL LOL LOL Thank you Milk of Magnesia!!!! <huge smile> I am using the Climara .01 patch and it has been going great! No hot flashes, no crying jags, I'm so even keel it's throwing my DH for a loop! lol He's wondering where the angry me went.......ummmm I think it went out with the nasty, spongy, blood filled uterus that was causing me sooo much pain! The doc said it was adenmyosis?? I had a couple of fibroids that were taken out as well, about the size of baseballs. Yesterday the DH had family over for Mother's Day grill out. I didn't do anything but sit on the porch, but I must have sat in the uncomfortable lawn chair for too long, because I was sore & exhausted when everyone finally left. I'm still trying to figure out what is enough & too much. I don't do much but sit, walk a little, sleep, go potty, so I feel like I'm not doing "anything", but it is getting better every day! I must say, I really expected things to be worse, so I am pleasantly surprised at how I feel. I wish I would have done this a long time ago!!!! I know I've got a long way to go, but I'm feeling good takin my time to heal correctly.

Best wishes for everyone!

Sherri

Hi All! I had a TAH/1 ovary removed on 5/7. Came home on 5/10. Only a little complication of lots of blood lose and bladder tore from scar tissue that was stuck to the uterus....which caused a bladder infection. Feeling pretty good. Bored out of my mind. When can we all go to WalMart?????

Hello everyone! I had my surgery last Tuesday (the 8th) and came home on Friday afternoon. I am really surprised at the lack of pain that I've had! My biggest problem has been getting my bowels back to normal--I stayed an extra day in the hospital because they weren't functioning (despite the numerous stool softeners and laxatives they had me on)! Things are better now--but still not where they should be.

I'm feeling a "fullness" in my abdomen--is this normal? and there's a tugging feeling on my left side--anyone else with this?

Other than those issues I'm doing much better than I had expected! It's great to know I'm not alone.

Left side tucking today too. I thought it was weird because i had the right ovary removed. Bloaty feeling too. Not bad but annoying. Not much pain either. Milk of Magnesia did the trick for me and dr. prescribed a stool softener which i haven't taken yet but is nice to have ready when needed. Good luck, you are not alone!
