Ang--I agree, it's hard to sit around and rest when I don't feel sick! That's probably why I'm paying for it now.

About that, I'm a worrier, (it runs in the family ). I know I messed up carrying heavy books yesterday--I'm still pretty sore, it feels like bad cramps. At what point should I call my doc to if there's a problem? It's not unbearable pain, but it is worse than I've had in days; I just don't want to have done something bad to my insides. I was kind of thinking to give this a couple of days and if it doesn't get better, call him. Does this sound right? I don't want to call for no reason, but I also don't want to do anything to jepordize my recovery.

I get the $$$ issue, too. My company is good enough to provide us with short term disability insurance that they pay the premiums on. I got my check yesterday--they sent the whole amount for my projected six weeks off! We're actually prepared financially for me being off work, but it's still nice not to have to deplete my savings, especially since my bills should start rolling in any time. We have a $3000 yearly cap, so that's what we're going to have to pay off.

Another good thing is the benefiber that you put in your food or drink it has no taste and dissolves completely, I tried it and it does work. The p fruits also work can or other wise you can get the light or in there own juice for cals and there are low cal juices on the market apple and cranberry both apple is around 40 cals and cranberry is around 25 cals. I know if I take my pain meds the next day I have problems just slows everything right down.

I went to the dr today to check out some uneven swelling on the left side of my incision. They thought it might be a hematoma or a hernia but the sonogram says it looks like "thick tissue". Of course they squeezed me in & were in a rush so I didn't get much explaination about it. They also noted that my bowels were full. Grrrrr.
My dr recommended Flax seed meal. Take a tablespoon full of that a day. Its good for your heart & cholesterol, too. I found it in the health food section of my grocery store. It isn't bad, tastes sort of nutty. There was also a receipe on the back for muffins. It was less than $3 & is certainly worth a shot.
Hope that helps!

Hogdson Mill makes a really good milled flaxseed pancake mix too. They are awesome with fresh stawberries and syrup!

Just Hanging Out

Hello sisters! After losing my staples, then falling apart at the incision on the 14th, my stitches (restitched) were finally taken out yesterday. The only problem is I'm scared to death!!!! I am lying around doing absolutely nothing, and feeling afraid to breathe! I'm SO bored!!! Happy to be pain free, but praying that everything holds itself together!

I hope everything stays together for you too!!! That must have been very frightening and frustrating for you. Did your doc say anything about moving around, what you can and can't do?

Yeah, find out from yer doc if you're allowed to walk. Walking really helps me deal with the "what if.." thinking and scary thoughts. I understand what you're saying though, I've been afraid to sneeze, cough, and laugh.

Believe me, coughing is the worst! And we are so dry here that allergies are horrible! Hard not to do!

My doc just said "take it easy," and was very laid back about the whole thing. Me, on the other hand....I'm doing everything in my power to avoid unzipping again!
