Got to sleep in my own bed last night!! Much more comfortable than the downstairs bed, plus it's with my DH, so it's friendlier :>). His snoring has gotten much better since he lost 15 pounds, so we can actually sleep in the same bed again. I still wake up every time I try to roll over, but at least can go back to sleep. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with weird dreams - I didn't realize that would be part of the recovery.

Getting around much better, and trying to get through today without pain meds. Made it yesterday until dinnertime, when I had to take some Motrin. Bowels are still slow, but functioning. I either don't go at all, or I go 3 times a day.

Still don't feel too ambitious, which is probably good. Reading a lot, doing crossword puzzles, and napping are about all I can handle.

I didn't have the same surgery. I had Laproscopic supracervical hysterectomy. I don't know what BSO is? I don't have any stitches and one week later, the soreness has all but disappeared. I'm practically good as new. I showered the next day just fine.

Hi everybody, I had my TAH on May 16th, but they left my ovaries. Gas has been painful, but I took gas ex and it has helped. I did too much 2 days ago, and i paid for it yesterday. I've decided that I am going to take it much easier from now on. I walked at 2am following my 9:00am surgery. Walking helps get that blood flowing! Is anyone else having trouble not doing much?

I got smart and starting using a heating pad set on low under my bum and sore vag. while I'm on the couch -- it helps somewhat with the pain and gas contractions. I've only had one good-sized BM but feel there's probably more blocking the gas behind it. OW!

I also had a LSH on May 18th. The surgery was nothing compared to what I was expecting. I also kept my ovaries. My pain is minimal at this time.

Hi Gals!

Sorry I didn't respond yesterday about the Mom (milk of magnesia) yukky but works well, without pain. I coupled it with a couple of Colace (stool softeners) just to be sure.

Yesterday was my roughest day so far. I couldn't settle any particular place - inside/outside/porch/bed/chair/ it just didn't matter. Plus I just overall felt crappy and restless. Today has been a little better, but, still have NO ENERGY -- a nurse friend of mine said it would take me about a month to recover from the stupid pneumonia~! I think it's worse than the hyster..... is anyone having a problem with indigestion? I didn't have it before the surgery, now its a constant thing.

I also am taking extra medications/ antibiotics/steroids/bronchodialators that I believe are really taking a toll on my already freaked out body.

Good luck with all the gas out there. . . I'm thrilled that's not on my list of icky stuff, too.

Tomorrow will be better, right? :-/

I see a couple of my May 14th girls have posted...

I am sorry you are having troubles. Yesterday morning I woke up to feeling dizzy when I rolled over in bed. I felt it a few more times during the day, but overall felt really good. I rode along with my mom to pick my kids up at school. It felt good to get out even for a little bit. I didn't rest much and didn't lay down at all and today I am paying for it.
I woke up dizzy again today. I felt woozy (I haven't taken any narcotics in at least 3 days) several times, so I called my doctor. The assistant told me to lay down for the rest of the day, drink lots of fluids, and eat several small meals. I made an appointment for tomorrow if I still feel bad.
I am sick of laying here. I miss playing around with my kids and feel bad for my mom. She has been so great over this last week, but dealing with 3 little kids and doing everything at home is hard! I know, because I am the one who usually does it!
Anyways, sorry to rant...I am just feeling down today and bored. I don't feel like reading and I am tired of watching TV. I like to watch HGTV, but then I want to go paint or something and I can't. It is funny how I wish for sometime to just do nothing and now that I have that time I am not taking advantage and enjoying it!!
Thanks for listening girls. That is why I am on here all day long...you are all so great!
