Return to Work
Hi - just found this website yesterday. I had a SAH on April 30 - feeling good. No narcotics for pain for the past 4 days just ibuprofen 600. I feel best in the AM then wiped by evening. At this point in the day I almost feel like I could go back to work. But by afternoon I need a nap. Does anyone have plans to return to work? when? I do have an active job, not a desk job. I do not return to the doctor until May 29 (4 weeks). He says I am healing well - good news!

Return to Work
Hi (((ot342)))
Welcome to Hystersisters! I'm glad you're doing so well. I hope you'll take it easy and not push yourself to go back to work. (((Mel))) was one of the fortunate ones who healed quickly and could manage an early return to work, but not many can do that. Her surgery was also a much less invasive one than what you had.
Most find it takes at least six weeks to feel up to returning to a very physically demanding job and even then many have to work into doing a full day. Enjoy your time off and take good care to heal well. Walking is a good thing for building up strength. Just go as far as you can without over tiring yourself or causing pain. This will help you gauge where you are in your recovery and if you could handle going back to work.
Keep us posted on your progress.
 's, Rita

Return to Work
hi ot,
Have you asked your surgeon? I found mine a great guide because he has seen so many recoveries he knows what to expect. Mine said 6-8 weeks and right now at 3 weeks on Thursday I can't even imagine being ready then! I have my post-op on June 4th, it will be interesting to see what he says then.
