Okay.... I have the best doctor in the world. Had TLH yesterday and am feeling pretty good today. I wasn't even at the castle long enough to really learn the names of the nurses. "CAll" was at 11:00 am. I was off to the room with the big lights at 12:15. Out at 2:15 almost exactly. "Peed" at 3:15 or so- lots of blue dye from the diagnostic tests afterward. DH drove me home at 4:30. Seriously, this has been great so far. The only real pain is from this blasted gas all over my body. Sent DH out for some GasX and hope it will work. Haven't moved my bowels yet, but am taking stool softener to take care of that soon, hopefully. Other than that, a perfectly pleasant experience so far. Total Laproscopic is definietly the way to go if you have a doctor that can do it. If not, it would be worth the trip to NC to see mine. Honestly, he is great. My uterus came out weighing almost 500 gms and he was still able to do it. Took out huge fibroids. Aside from my swelly belly, and the gas, no problems here. Thanks so much for all the warm thoughts and prayers! It's good to be part of the sisterhood.

I had my LAVH on Monday and spent two days in the hospital. My surgery went great....my doc is awsome!! He said my uterus was in bad shape..it was all scarred up from the previous ablation I had...also I had some holes in it that were bleeding. I feel confident that my pain will not return. Everything else looked good...got to keep the one ovary I have remaining...Yay!! I feel really good. I'm tired but thats really about it!! I'm sore, espically when I get up and moving, but in all I don't feel like I just had major surgery!! Good luck to everyone this week!! I hope to hear from some others soon...Revgal, it looks like we are off to a good start!!

I had LSH on Tuesday and went home on Wednesday. I hurt a whole lot at first and thought I might have made a mistake. However, I now know I did the right thing. My bleeding has stopped and my pain is much better. I get up and walk around every hour and it helps me so much. I do get tired easily but I know that will get better as time goes by. The hardest part was waiting to have the surgery!

Well I had my TAH on Tuesday May22nd. When she removed my uterus and cervix she also found endometriosis on my ovaries and my tubes. She burned off the endo and I have had only surgical pain ever since no pelvic pain. I still havent had a BM yet. I have alot of gas but it hurts to get it out of me too lol. I had issues with my Asthma so I got sent home on a ton of meds. I also have an infection somewhere and I was on IV antibiodics. Now im just on Cipro for the infection. I also had to have breathing treatments in the hospital. Now im on my tegradol twice a day, effexor, singular, albuterol, Cipro, multivitamin, Motrin, and percocets prn. I ran out of money for my colace and gas x. She wants me to take the colace twice a day. She said no straining when having a BM because if I do I will pop her stiches and she will have to do them all over again lol. My doctor was great. Im glad I stuck with her. Shes the only one who believed I was in pain and it wasnt an STD. She also let me choose what I wanted to do for my cancer. I really like her and would recommend her to anyone.

Hi everyone!! Just got home from the castle. I had a LSH Wednesday morning. The doctor found a golf ball sized cyst on my left ovary so that was removed too. Dr. also said that fibroids had grown much larger since my ultrasound March 2006. So glad I did this! They didn't even know about the cyst until I went into surgery. Surgery ended-up being 3 and 1/2 hours and other than being wheeled into the operating room, I remember nothing. My surgery was at 8:00 a.m. and I woke up in the recovery room at 2:00 p.m. I started walking at 5:15 yesterday morning, took showers both days, ate solid foods, and I have minimal pain. Still have not had a BM but that should be soon. The doctors and nurses were very surprised at how well I was doing. I'm soooo glad to be home in my own bed. My room mate the 1st night was having many issues and was trying to visit and stuff and all I wanted to do was rest. So they moved me into a different room last night and I got a real good sleep.

I'm going to take a nap now. Rest and drink plenty of water everyone!
