Hello Everyone,
I had a TVH Monday 21st, and it went wonderful. My doctor was so amazing, the only problem I had was that the pain medications made me sick but once I stopped taking them I have been pain free. I have to keep reminding myself that I need rest.
HAVING MY TVH HAS BEEN THE BEST THING I COULD HAVE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF!!!!!!

I had a vaginal hysterectomy with A&P reapair and TVT on May 22. Came home on May 24 with a catheter - yeah for me!! The pain has been bearable - the catheter is not. My urologist said I could take it out but she would prefer that I not. So as a result I am getting it taken out on Thursday the 30th. The part that is the hardest for me is that I know how to take it out.

Oh well, now I can spend the rest of life worry free and period free, no more cervical dysplasia for me! I am only 28, but I am sure I made the right decission.

This website is SO great! I was looking for info. because like so many of you, I have trouble "pooping". I feel so much better now that I know it isn't just me. I had a LAVH on May 22nd. The gas pain was the worst. The nurse said when I walk around it should relieve it so I said well then I want to walk around!!! It took about 8 hours to pee. I felt like I had to go but just couldn't. Then finally it came!!!! I was SO happy! I only stayed one night because I couldn't stand being there. After reading things here I sent my DH for stool softeners and raisin bran... I hope it helps. I tried to put laundry in the washer yesterday, that set me back a bit so now I am back to being "lazy". For all the years I took care of them, they can take care of me now!! Maybe they will appreciate me more! (?) Anyway, thank you for taking the time to write about your experiences! It has helped me a bunch!!! I wish I had found this website before the surgery, but better late than never! Thanks!

I'm "sore but OK" also. Had a TVH on May 23, home the next day. I can relate to everyone's dizziness though and today feel continually nauseated and weak. Putting off taking a shower but I know I have to get in there eventually. Thanks for all your posts everyone!!!

Still get tired easily, but can't unwind at night. I feel like a top winding up! DId let DH drive me to Target and rode around on one of those little carts yesterday. But today I feel more tired and my sling area feels tight and sore, so I may have overdone it.

Have used Miralax by prescription from my urogyn and that stuff is awesome. Like clockwork every morning, I go, and things are so loose there is no straining at all. Isn't too bad if it's mixed with juice.

Have a nasty bruise on one incision....but feel pretty good, except for the fatigue. Hope everyone else is doing well too!

Hi ladies, I made myself stay down yesterday, I slept really good last night (not much pain when I rolled over or slept on my left side), and today I feel great. The challenge for me will be to continue to rest and stay down today because I feel so good. After taking two colace yesterday, I finally had bms, but it was weird because I felt dizzy, my heart was racing, and I thought I was going to barf. I hope that was just because of the colace. Have any of you experienced this?

Hi ladies! I had my LTVH and bladder sling surgery on the 22nd home the 23rd with a cathader. The pain wasn't bad until Friday night when the cathader got blocked at ended up at the ER. I have a post op appointment on Tuesady and I am real hopeful that I will loose the cathader. The worst part of this whole thing is the cathader. I was up doing housework and walking more on Thursday. After the trip to the ER the DR. grounded me to the couch until I see the doc on Tuesday. I am driving my family CRAZY right now. I hope everyone has a FAST recovery

TAH/BSO on May 25 - now home

Hello supportive friends. I have been looking forward to making this post, knowing when I did the long and anxious weeks of waiting for surgery would be over.

I've learned so much from this site! The hospital staff were impressed by my preperation and of course I passed the site address along.

Some hints for anyone making the trip soon:

1. Don't be embarassed to ask for a Xanax before the surgery. Mine began almost two hours late and I was shaking uncontroably.

2. Bring several pairs of 'granny panties'. I also had a few pull over tank tops to keep me cozy and not feel so exposed.

3. Never, ever lapse on pain meds. Happened on day two. A terrible, long hour waiting for the pain meds to kick-in.

4. You are lucky if you have a partner to help. John says the magic words' what do I need to do for you?"

I'm working on the nap idea. I'm not good at resting but have no choice for now.

This is John - Chrisanne was a fantastic patient!!

Home and feeling great

I am home. Came home yesterday just after lunch. I am feeling excellent!!!! This is so great. I lost a really huge mass out of my abdomen and I feel so much better.

I had TAH leaving ovaries on Weds the 23rd and it went perfectly fine. Doc ran into a softball size fibriod to the left of my belly button and could not get at my uterus to take it out. She ended up cutting the large fibroids out first to get at the arteries to remove my uterus. I woke up from surgery and put my hands on my belly and it must have been half the size it was even while it was swollen from surgery. Doc said my uterus was completely filling my abdomen and crushing everything there. Now I know I was truly in pain. Although I am sore, and have the gas to deal with, I am already 200% better!!

I hope everyone else had the success I had!!!!! I wish I had not waited the last five years.
