I too found week 3 tougher than week 2, but starting into week 4 seems better. I have had no spotting whatsoever since surgery, but my recovery has been very easy. I was driving at 1 week & never did slow down too much. Swelly belly wil be a part of our lives for quite sometime, but, in my case, I'm swollen lower than I was when I was carrying my uterus & fibroids around. I've learned to camoflauge it & aren't we lucky that the longer "swingy tops" are in style??!!!

My biggest problem now is dreading going back to work. I have thoroughly enjoyed this time off & gotten so much done - more than I thought I would. I assumed I'd be just laying around for 6 weeks. I have been truly blessed !!!!

Hello Ladies,

Glad to hear that everyone is feeling better since we're at 3 - 4 weeks post op. Personally, I'm doing ok. I'm really taking it slow because I know what might happen if I don't. I find that I get tired quickly. I have my dad drive me to the store, run an errand or 2 and when I get back home, I'm ready for bed. I walk a little, not much. I'll try to start a walking routine next week after my first follow-up dr' appt.

I haven't had any discharge, vaginal or incision wise. My incision seems to be healing okay, except for 1 small scabby area.

I seem to be constipated more now. before, everytime I ate, I went immediately to the bathroom afterwards, but now...nothing. I took a laxative a few days ago, but am hesitant in doing it on a regular basis. anyone else with this problem?

also, my skin seems very dry these days. I lotion and moisturize after every shower, but my skin seems dry still, especially my legs, thighs, upper torso area. is this something else I will face since the big operation?

does anyone else fell a achiness inside where there plumbing once was? how long does it take for the inside to heal?

thanks for all the advice and support.

Hello fellow sisters,
I get to report discharge has stopped. I tend to get headaches which I've not really had before. I sadly report that SWELLY BELLY is still hanging around ran into friend from JR high and she started rubbing my belly to which I replied NO ** NO. then explained it all to her. I also get little aches in random places on belly. Other then that all is well. If discharge does not return in the next 3 days I can get into our huge jacuzzi bath tub. Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Day,
Cherrill

I too have started to notice dry skin, primarily my feet and hands, never really had that problem before except in the winter.

Still can't sit for long periods of time - belly becomes swollen and tender. Makes working on the computer (from home) difficult.

Speaking of tender, is anyone else still feeling the pain with their belly? My incision is fine and does not hurt whatsoever, but my stomach is very sore. I have been sssooo careful to not lift, pull, push, and haven't even started driving again after 4 weeks. Can't quite figure out why I am still hurting, unless it is just the normal healing. I just expected a bit more progress than what I have had.

Only other issue was that I still cannot wear pants because of my belly...too swollen and painful. I've had to wear sundresses and skirts a size larger, and that is growing very old. Feel too dressed up in my house...I'm a barefoot, blue jeans kind of girl!

Thankfully I have a post-op appointment tomorrow morning, so I will check with the doc. Was just curious how everyone else was doing in that regard.

I still have swelly belly. I hope this isn't a forever thing! LOL You would think that losing that monster that was in me would make my belly smaller!?

I have aches and pains too. Pulling type pains and achey...my incision is doing okay, a little oozing now and then, but other than that, fine. No discharge either. I have less stamina still, but I guess that is normal. Today I took a nap in the chair! LOL

troyryans3, I am 4 weeks today and I am really really sore. I can't sit without discomfort either and my stomach aches really bad. I rub it gently but it still hurts to the touch so there is no way I could ever put pants on it. I have some capries with no zipper or waste band elastic and I live in them. I mostly just sit in my big Tshirt and underwear because it is the most comfortable.

I had my post op with my surgeon today and she says I am healing well, cervix looks good. I told her I still hurt really bad and she looked at me like I was from mars. Then she said well you have a really long incision so it may take more time than most of the bikini cuts that I do.

I am also really let down. I thought I'd be out of pain by now. I assumed I'd be stiff and moving slowly but not this sore.

hello everyone, my vaginal hyst will be a month tomorrow. i too am still really tired. i have the most energy in the morning.... so if i have any errands to run i do them in the morning. i too thought this tiredness would be gone by now. i have tried walking for about 30 minutes or so, then in the afternoon i just crash...... before surgery i worked out every morning now it seems really hard to get motivated. sometimes i wonder if this is the way it supposed to be...... im getting really tired of sitting around, but im getting my hand quilting done!

Ann43, it is nice to know I am not alone in the pain department...unfortunately for both of us! I really don't know what I was expecting, I guess too much, to think at 4 weeks I would be feeling better than what I am.

Of course, I had a bit of the blues today (lack of hormones kicking in), and nothing was right...clothes did not fit, ones that did looked horrible, hair is flat and I couldn't do anything with it, teary because my oatmeal tasted funny , the story goes on and on.

At least there is tomorrow...another step towards being me again! Here's to all of us starting to feel normal again!

Ladies....it is amazing how I log on to read any new posts and nearly everytime alot of the rest of you are exactly where I am too. I also feel achy, not necessarily painful but really achy all though my abdominal area. I have my post op appointment tomorrow morning so I am going to ask my doc about that. I too find sitting too long or being up too long exhausting. Oh and the blues? Boy can I relate to that one. Today I have been snappy and teary over every thing, too. So since we are reporting the same tings, I am guessing it must be somewhat typical. Hang in there, friends. One day at a time.

It is amazing to me that so many of us are feeling the same, good but tired. Phantom pains through out the abdomen. It was an emotional day for me as well. Got and e-mail from a friend and grabbed the tissue box. And yes the swollen belly is depressing... I have hit the clearance rack at several stores for clothes that are 2 and 3 sizes larger just for the belly. My 8 yr old DD told me how cute I looked, how sweet. I don't feel cute I feel deprived of my clothes. okay I'm through venting thank you and good night.

Happy Day,
