Sandi1225: It's great to have you here! This site has everything. Some of the Sisters are taking the "long road" to recovery so you are not alone. Hopefully, one will get with you shortly. You can do private emails, and will get answered! The wimmins here are great so write often and keep us up on your recovery, OK?
Schnowzerz and Jibber Jabber: Hospital staff gave me the "before surgery" pamphlet just after my surgery (question mark, smilie scratching head and shrugging shoulders) which stated "If you still experience a sex drive before surgery, you will have it after surgery." With the pain in my lower back GONE (I thought it was a subluxed lower lumbar for YEARS!) It's now hard for me to go even a few days without checkin'in with the SO to see if he's interested. That answer would be yes. I'm still careful, but am starting to relax as no untoward camplications have arisen. (singing) "Oh Happy Day!"
The long part of this week was the relatives and the 4th of July. We have a HUGE Blues festival here in Portland this week, with around 25,000 expected at any given time. The 4th is the big day, with around twice that many people occupying river bank on both sides of town for the fireworks. Walking the bridge in this standing room-only crowd, in the heat, for as long as necessary (ouch) to cross the bridge on foot left me dehydrated with both hands swollen noticably. My chest was going through constrictions! I don't think I am ready to "return to combat" just yet. Maybe none of us are.... I was OK the next day, but the DH Bro-in-law (facing major surgery himself) was concerned and compassionate. Guess the strain showed. Have a good weekend everyone, as we head towards weeks six and seven. Stay tuned.

Sandi: We are in the same boat. When I went in for my post-op I was told there was a portion that was not healing right. He put silver nitrate on it and told me I couldn't have sex for another month!!!! I know the frustration you are feeling! My birthday is next week and all I wanted was to have relations with my BF. I have been restricted for 14 weeks already and now I have to wait another 4. He is being understanding and patient, but I am not!!!!

Woo Hoo! I finally was able to wear a pair of capris on the 4th for the first time since my TAH BSO on May 21! Ok, so they were a size larger than what I normally wear, but it sure felt good to not have to wear a skirt or sundress. I was starting to feel a bit dowdy! Still can't get into the jeans, they will just have to wait. Still driving with a pillow on my tummy, which remains a bit swollen, and very tender.

Have one more week until I return back to work (ugh) and can resume fun with the hubby (yeah). I don't want to do one, and am a little scared about the other. LOL

I hope everyone had a good holiday celebration, and that you are mending in good fashion.

You guys CAN have fun without the full thing, you know! It is fun to experiment!!! We have been doing so for about a week now, and while we can't wait till we can do it all, with Doc's permission on Monday, we are still having fun!

I'm 6 weeks today and feeling wonderful compared to the last 5! Had my post-op on Tues and was told everything is healing as it should (YIPPEE!), but I'm still bleeding a bit and had lots of work done so have to wait 2 more weeks for fun with hubby. Not ready to experiment yet, as the bleeding doesn't make me feel so appealing if you now what I mean and I really want things healed.

But had a totally pamper me day to celebrate 6 wks and feeling better. Had breakfast out with a friend and had a pedicure and manicure (gift from family on my BD) and had little flowers painted on my nails - such a girly thing to do.

Feeling sooooo much better than 1 week ago - got rid of the darn hemmorhoids finally!

Hope everyone else is on the mend too!

Just a quick trip to HS to wish everyone a very good recovery still! You wont hear from me for about 2 weeks from now, as we are heading for Spain in just 2 hours from now. It's nighttime here now, and we'll leave for the airport at 03:30 am (our local time). Butterflys in my tummy!

Keep the spirit and take care, Princesses!

wmac...We had our surgeries on the same day and also have been given the "official go" for my dh and I to be together again, but haven't yet. I still feel sort of bruised in my belly area and just feel as if I need a bit more time. I can't remember who said it, but someone said that sex was much better. I sort of think that without having big fibroids anymore that things would be better. I guess I am just not feeling "in the mood yet"
