Second the motion to wait until feeling up to sex. But, recommend not being too apprehensive about it. Remember that sex promotes and stimulates glands other than the ones we've removed. Your mental and emotional health is also involved. Say what you need him to hear, be aware of your comfort levels, ....I didn't get any "extra" smearing, nothing tore, for which I am grateful. It all had to stretch out a bit after such a long haiatus but it wasn't bad!. You know best what is going on with this situation so, trust, trust, trust! Keep writing. Have fun Jibber.

Someone was asking what the stiches look like. Well I thought I seen some kinda blueish real fine and thin and saw a little knot it .But last night I had a something it had some blood on it and flesh colored strings my h said it was the stiches. The first time it got it was small and this one was a bit bigger. But I have no bleeding at all.I have been back to work for five weeks now. Monday will be five weeks anyway.

I have my six week tomorrow..actually it is a seven week thanks to the US Holiday! I hope to be released to go back to work. I work in a school, so I will still have an extra three weeks off! So, hopefully I will be ready and able to deal with the little ones in an elementary school!

I have my post op check this week. The tiredness is letting up and I have been walking. But has anyone had pelvic floor pain? I'm not sure if boating overdid it or if it's normal healing? I don't see my GYN till Friday. It's not a constant pain, but I notice pain while sitting which is kind of different through this recovery deal.

DH said he hopes GYN releases us, he's getting antsy I'm sure.

And...only 9 more elmiron instillations, plus checking to see if the sling is ok since I am still leaking.

Diver...your sling is leaking? Did you get the bladder or the urethral sling or both? I don't have any problems with mine. Do you leak when you sneeze or cough?

I don't have any pain at all. Though today I cleaned the ceiling fans and after I climbed off the chair I felt a pull on my left side. Don't know what that was, it didn't hurt, but it was different feeling.

Other than that, nothing to show I had surgery, other than my lovely purple scar....I feel great.

I have to tell you girls the first couple of times I was very nervous and apprehensive but finally last night I was able to relax and enjoy the fun. I was very happy to learn that I was still able to achieve the big O and am quite relieved it still works.
So here's to all of you out there!! Enjoy!!!
For those of you that have to wait a little longer..... it will be great...keep thinking positively.

Diverchick, I still have some pelvic pain and also some abdominal type twinges and today, a new one - on my left side, I guess where my ovary is - a weird throbbing of some type. I did a bit too much the last two days though because I finally started to feel like I hadn't had surgery. I certainly remember as soon as I try to walk my normal stride - can't quite do that yet. I think most of my discomfort is from my A & P repairs.

SweetieD - thanks for the words of encouragement - in a couple of weeks I hope to find out good results in that department as well!
What is a Monarc repair?

betty: thanks that made me feel less concerned! I wasn't supposed to go boating per my GYN and when things started hurting....
the monarc repair is just the type of sling my urogyn did to support my bladder. I have mesh that is supposed to be helping with leakage, but for some reason I'm still leaking.
schnowzerz; no leaking when sneezing, sometimes when I cough but everyday, some leakage. urogyn has me doing a ton of kegels and will reeval in august. i went in at one week knowing it was urine. he said that that was way too soon to evaluate the success/failure so he wanted to see how i did in 3 months. still no improvement despite kegeling every day! and i'm talking 300 per day!

can't believe we're all at the almost 7 week mark. anyone here regret having their surgery? for me...NO, i feel lots better not lugging around that pesky little thing, and i couldn't even tell you when aunt flo was supposed to be here! and here's to making it through 6 weeks~

Seven weeks on Tuesday...doing well, have final (?) post-op check on Wednesday. Have had NO spotting at all, so am hoping there won't be an internal...

Energy? Feels like depression, only it isn't. There is some financial pressure....but basically, I think it takes a couple more months to get back to being able to get "second wind".

sweetieD, thanks for the post on sex...I almost find it repugnant right now, and didn't think it would be this difficult to get back in the mood! But my BF is VERY understanding, so I can relax. I felt such a disconnect after surgery that I feel like I need to get to know him all over again.

Such a relief to read everyone's experiences here....
