Hi sisters!

daffodil, I cross my fingers for you, and hope everything comes back perfect for you, sweetie.

Kerr: How strange it is that your breast are growing... That's just plain weird, really. Hopefully it will pass soon.

Ann: I guess nobody of us had thought it would take so many months to get back on track again, huh? But in a few months I'm sure we don't even remember all the fuzz our bodies been through. Hang in there.

For me, I've finally work up the courage to call the doc and am going for a pelvic exam in the end of October. (Our hospital is a really small one, and there was no available time before October 30th) I've even decided not to have a narcoses, and are going to make it with a few Valiums in stead. I feel a bit proud of that, even though I know it might seem stupid for ya all. But for me that is a major step, and it somehow feels like I'm going to war without any weapon to defend my self, you know? But I will make it, I'm so determined that I will make it. I think about it as a kick in the but for my pedo-grandfather, he have been running my mind and my life too long, now it's my turn to take control. A giant leap in the right direction, maybe. My shrink is really supportive, and for the next weeks we are working with hypnosis to build up my confidence to make the pelvic exam easier to cope with. I hope it helps.

The autumn has come to Norway, it's colder and darker by the day, and I must say I don't really enjoy the thoughts of snow in just a month or two. But that's just the way it is here in the cold north.

I hope all are doing well, despite some issues, and that you will have a wonderful weekend. Relax and try to stay in the princess mode.

GOOD FOR YOU jibber on the pelvic. I know it has got to be unbearably difficult and I am so glad you feel you are able to try it and have supportive help to get to that point.

Good news on my CA-125 everyone! It is 12. Any thing under 34 is considered normal. Before surgery, it was 485. So all clear. Next appointment in 4 months. Thanks for all the support.

arthritis

If you had any complaints with arthritis before the surgery--I have a question for ya. I had some arthritis in my left knee that would sometimes bother me but mostly didn't. I am getting to where I am kinda hobbling due to the discomfort. I am taking Evista because I am not on hormones. thanks for anyone's advice.

I have had arthritis in my knees for some time. I am not on hormones and I take relafen or the generic. At least I think that is the name. Doc tried me on several before this one and this works for me. Have you talked to your doc about it?

i didn't realize it would keep getting worse. Did your gyn give it to you or did you go to a bone specialist?

oh, it is not related to my hysterectomy at all. My PCP gave it to me long before I developed the need for surgery. Arthritis is a condition of the joints and the spaces inbetween them. There are several types of arthritis. And it does get worse. It does not fix itself. The specialist for arthritis is called a rheumatologist. Although I would guess the vast amount of care for arthritis comes from PCPs. I noticed before my surgery about 6 months or so that my arthritis was not bothering my knees as much. But after they began hurting again. I wondered why when it dawned on me that I was much more active AFTER I healed and activity does increase symptoms of the arthritis. So I went back on my anti-inflammatory. It was not the fact that I had SURGERY that made my arthritis worse, it was that I was again more active because I felt better physically. More energy and no gyn pain.

hey there all! Feeling pretty good other than the mood swings which are still going strong and the right sided pain. see my GYN tomorrow for an ultrasound and to discuss the moods. Am curious to see what happens! THe right side pain is pretty severe at times, but not always, so I'm curious to see what the ultrasound shows.
Jibber...CONGRATS on the appointment, you can do it, I know you can!
Missing you all lots....it seems like we're all moving towards better health and vitality!

Hi Ladies!

Just popping in to say hello to all the May sisters and give a brief update. These past 4 months have flown by! We have had so much going on that I have not had the opportunity to do any posting.

Post op things could not be going any better. I am so glad I had this surgery!! I had no idea how bad I was feeling until I feel so good now. Never again will I allow myself to feel so bad and believe that it is "normal" to feel that way. Had no idea sex could be SO MUCH FUN! If you have ever seen the Whack-A-Mole games at carnivals, that is how sex was for me NOT anymore

DH and I have been wanting to buy a house in a particular neighborhood here in town and right after the 4th we found THE ONE and we moved in 2 1/2 weeks ago. Hoping to be a bit more settled than we are but last Friday night I "misjudged" the last step on our porch and sprained my ankle so have been laid up again. It sure has been a very challenging year medically for me.

I hope this finds you all doing wonderful and you are enjoying feeling good!

Just popping in to let you know that I haven't forgot you!

Kerry: Did you get my letter yet?

Off topic, but please forgive me for sharing: My baby grandson (10 mnth old in two days) had an accident last sunday, and is now at the hospital with severe burn injuries. It's like living in a nightmare... He has undergone surgical procedures 3 times this week, are very pain medicated and in lot of pain. Our family are like zombies now, and the whole world has simply fallen apart. But he will be fine, we know that, we just have to take one day at a time.
