CT Scan results

I finally received my CT Scan results today. And I'm in shock, the tests actually showed something. I don't know whether to or to

The tests show what appears to be a cyst in the anteromedial right lobe of the liver. Technician recommends ultrasonography for better characterization. The tests also show an abnormal enlargement of the inferior head of the pancreas, appears to be in excess of 4cmm in diameter in places. (Obviously I am looking at a copy of my results )

Whether it's serious or not I'm not sure, but my ob-gyn has referred me to a gastroenterologist. He gave me 3 names and I called 1 and they can't get me in until August 2nd The appt lady told me that she would watch for a cancellation and try to get me in sooner. She was very very nice, especially when I expressed the pain that I was in. It is too late right now to call the other 2 so I will call on Monday in the hopes of getting in sooner. I cannot wait until August 2nd. I may explode by than My pain has continually grown worse since I had the test on Tuesday. I am now walking with a noticeable limp, trying to take the pressure off of my right side. I am sooooo swollen and it hurts when I use the restroom.

Ladies, I have such mixed emotions right now. I am feeling validated, but yet I am scared. What if this is something really really serious? My father passed away from cancer of the liver.

Guess all I can do is wait it out and hope for the best. Push those bad bad thoughts out of my head. Please keep me in your prayers. Pray that I can get in to the doc soon and that this is something easily fixable, that soon I will be well again.

Hi Kim, holiday girl here, good to hear you got some results, but disturbing to hear what they are

My father as well died from liver cancer, and I can tell you I would be feeling much the same as you right now if that were me......but I would have to think if the dr's thought it was possibly the big 'C' that they would put an urgent flag on your appointment??........but then again they do move in mysterious ways, how soon can they do the ultrasound to get a better look? Seems to me you had an ultrasound not too long ago, wonder why they didn't see it then??

sorry, I"m full of more questions then you, did the gyn give you any idea at all what he thought the cyst and the enlargement were??????

sending you the biggest possible hugs hun, please let us know as soon as you know anything ok?

Thanks for the I sure need them.

The ultrasound was a pelvic ultrasound, and the lady was so fast that believe me she didn't go much beyond that area. Now that you mention it I was thinking at the time, why don't you just look over EVERYTHING while you're looking

I only talked to my doctor's nurse not the doctor himself. I was so stunned when she read the results to me that I only thought of to ask her to fax them to me. Guess I should've asked to speak the doctor

I cant imagine the emotions you are feeling....finally to have your pain validated but yet having to worry about the unknown. My Mom has a couple of cysts on her Liver which are benign, hopefully the same will be with yours. Please insist one of these GI Docs get you in ASAP to further explain what is going on. You will be in my prayers Kim. Your Sisters are here for you

I'm happy that you at least know the reason for your pain Kim, but I don't think waiting that long is not acceptable. I hope one of the other docs can see you sooner than August
Know that we are with you on this my friend

Support for You

Dear Kim,
I am offering support for you. I read your posts and understand how hard it has been for you. Although it is disturbing news to know that something is definitely wrong, you can now begin to address these problems and take a closer step toward healing. I'm not happy about you having to wait a long time for an appointment. I agree with Lily. You need to be seen and get on the road to solving these problems. You've waited long enough. I will keep you in my prayers!!!
Love, Light, Blessings

Dear Kim, I know (kind of) how you feel: while it's always nice to know that it's not all "in our head", it is also scary to find out that there IS a cause to the pain.

{{{Kim}}} You're in my thoughts and prayers, as always. Hang in there and keep us posted.

I usually don't hang out here but for some reason I took a look this morning. I feel so bad for you going through the weekend with so many questions. I am hoping the fact that your Dr. didn't make you the appointment immediately that they are not thinking cancer. When I had my hyst my PCP found the tumors and sent me for CT and Ultrasound. She immediately called my gyn and when he saw me he called the gyn oncologist himself to get me within a week. I know how awfully you are feeling, no knowing. When I left my gyn I went to my office closed the door and sat there stunned for a long while. Eventually I decided I could not control the diagnosis so I had to continue to function. It was hard, I can't imagine if I would have had to wait so long. I hope Monday you can talk to your Dr. and your Dr. can call to speed up the apt. You can't wait that long, you will be miserable. I am so sorry, I hope that you get some peace of mind Monday. In the mean time, know I am thinking about you and sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.
