I have finished the entire treatment, now I am cancer free.
Girls, it is done. I cant believe it. I am finished. I went to hospital and on the morning of my radiation I was so scared, but I said to God: right here I am , I am scared and I know that you are all powerful, so please move my bladder and bowel right up out of the way so my treatment will be short. And please God , make my treatment no more than 20 hours. " I prayed and prayed that over and over, guess what? My treatment was just under 17 hours. I just about jumped up out of bed and hugged my radiologist oncologist. When I came out of theatre , I was so distressed from the discomfort of the catheter, but a really compassionate nurse told me to ask for Lignocaine to be put around the urethra and this worked so well. I only took 3 valium and some pain killers to get me through. Also some more good news: When my gyno/oncologist examined me she said that internally my vagina had absolutley no burning from the external radiation. She said that there was no shortening or thinning of the vagina. She could not believe it. It looks like the only side effect was the external burning , which is now becoming a blur. I am so, so happy. I have been a bit nauseous and have been sleeping on and off, but I just had to come and tell you, my support team. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Robyn,
Isn't it just the best? Cancer Free...Cancer Free. I'm so proud of you for how you have handled this whole situation and how in the midst of all this you have been such a support to others.
I was certainly praying for you and what great news that there doesn't appear to be any internal damage from the radiation. God is very good, indeed!
Love ya too my radiation buddy!
