jcmch, I'm like you, my first day back was yesterday. I'm a medical secretary at a hospital and actually the day went better than I thought it would. It was nice to be able to talk to docs., nurses, about the minor problems I'm still having. They seemed concerned about my constipation and gastritis and suggested endoscopy and colonoscopy which I probably will have in August. Also, my laparoscopy incision has a stitch still festering beneath which is really driving me crazy! Employee health doc. thought my gyne. should remove the stitch but I called them today and they said it might work itself out, so just wait. It does take a while to get back into things but once you do, it's like you never left. I was surprised how O.K. I felt after a full day of work. All the people welcoming me back was nice so that probably helped. As far as the sex, for the other hystersisters, the last two nights were a success! The first night wasn't as "strong" but last night it seemed better. I thought I actually had less pain than I had pre surgery as I had endo. & chronic cervicitis, etc. so I didn't have pain from that. My husband was "gentle" so that helped, too. It's great to hear how everyone is doing at this point.

...tried intercourse last night, and DH nor I felt any difference (except my increase in libido and more empathy or better understanding about what men go through when deprived of s..). The tummy is still slightly sore and swollen. Other than that everything is great (no pain below). No discharge was noticed.

Hi Ladies
Glad to hear all of you are doing well
Sorry this is so long
It has been a few days since I been here. DH was home and he hogs the computer.
Tues Jusly 10th was my first day back to work 1/2 day for the week. I went ok. I had to do a mail run through out the building which normally takes 1/2 hour it took me 45- 50 min. I was tired. Wen we get done with third floor we have to do reroutes on second floor but beening tired I went back to my dept. and was going to take a break and then walk the other stuff back up to 2nd floor. But I got yelled at by a co-corker I told her I would DO IT WHEN IT GOT BACK I felt like I was a rubberband. Than that co-worker wrote me a note say " I am glad you are back".
I did get a few thing done like reading e-mails, meeting with my supervisor on a few new things, getting coffee, getting a hug from one of our maintance guys, visiting with other people and finding out that there were a couple other women out at the same time have a hyst.
I Did Do Some Work! But Before I Knew It It Was 11:00 and I Had to Leave.
Because I only work 1/2 days the other 1/2 of the days I still get paid Short Term Disability. Which I didn't relieze(sp?) so I don't need to use PTO.
I am feel better but my back is still real sore.
Yesterday when I got up for work I took a shower and got dressed did my hair bushed my teeth and new I was forgetting something but couldn't remember what. So a few mintues later it dawned on me I Had to put on Makeup. Have not woren makeup since before surgery and that would have been scary to go to work without makeup on LOL.
Thanks for listening.

Ok, a little late, but here I am. Got the ok from Doc to resume life on Friday. Already took advantage of the hot tub and the hubby, lol! Unfortunately, like Sillydays, the first go round was "O"-less..grrr!! My fault though, I had taken muscle relaxers for my back and didn't realize there would be repercussions...duh!!! The second attempt, much better.. ..all systems go!!! Today is my first day back at work and I've been ready to take a nap since 12. I think it's boredom and the fact I sit at a desk all day. Well, that, and I really have no love for this job, and honestly, I wish I had another 6 weeks away from it...or forever away would actually be better. I also wasn't happy about having to put makeup on again. I started to enjoy the fresh look, lol! The only other complaint I have right now is the continued swelly belly..or maybe it is just fat from rediscovering Cheetos while on hiatus. Either way, it's got to go, and fast..it makes me very crabby. I don't remember what my weight was to start, but I think it was around 114 right before the hyst. I got another 10 lbs. added on that right now. I wanted to walk today, but it's so horribly muggy out that you can't even breath. Maybe tomorrow will be better..or I'll have to join a gym soon. I hope everyone is well and getting back into life as easy as possible. Be well!
Oh, and how could I forget...no more period!! Could I be any more excited about that?!?!

It is so nice to read that everyone is doing so well and starting to resume their normal lives again. Don't have my 6 wk postop till next Monday and hope to get the okay to resume normal activities, although I am hoping to not have to go back to work till the following week. I am still not sleeping all that great (probably why I don't have much energy yet) and find that I am a late bloomer with the emotional cry at the drop of a hat stuff. My DH keeps asking shouldn't that have happened and stopped by now

Hello Hello!! I celebrate the six week mark today woohoo! allready had my checkup and did the sex thing. No pain just apprehensive. It did not help to bring my libido back to life though. I still have no desire. Big disappointment, not sure what to do about that. Hopefully with time the hormones will work themselves out. Jasminy I too still have a stitch left. At first it was snagging on my clothes and I tried to remove it. OUCH. So I left it alone and the doc said it will work itself out but it seems to be working itself in instead.Zinnialu, you are not the only one that still has the tearful days. I cried yesterday at home alone for about 10 minutes over nothing that turned into everything in my mind. Sometimes my thoughts just are strange and my memory is d*****itely gone although all that know me say it was gone before I am just now knowing it. Walking helps when those sad times come. I walked 3 miles yesterday because it was so beautiful out 75 and breezy. Felt great after, really helps with stress! But did wear down toward the end. I have swelly belly left also. Cant button my pants and the ones I can button dig into me when I sit down YUCKY. I have been really watching what I eat and walking as much as I can because my muscles have turned to mush in such a short time. Very discouraging. But on the bright side the activity is helping I have lost 5 pounds. It has not helped my belly though. I am going on vacation next week and I thought I read somewhere that they close this thread at 8 wks. So in case I am not able to write again I want to wish everyone well! Thank you all so much for sharing your progress and being so supportive. How great it will be as we return to our everyday lives to be free of our discomfort and terrible periods! Thanks to all and speedy recoveries!!!!

nurcroo be careful with that stitch. It is such a pain to still have the open area! I didn't realize they closed this thread, that's kind of sad......I'll miss it.

Nurcroo, I'm so glad your checkup went well. Where is this stitch again? Internally? I had staples on my abdomen and then for the bladder sling, I had 2 small incisions in my groin on either side, but no stitches, except internally, which I don't feel. I wouldn't worry about your sex life...I'm sure all is well in time. Our bodies have been through a lot. I know I'm feeling so good. I am so glad I had this surgery. I go back to my urologist in late August but am done with the ob doc until January. I still get up about every 3 hours in the night to urinate. Docs said it's urge incontinence and the bladder takes time to calm down. I'm on medicine for it. I don't go back to work until the 30th of July so I feel like I'm on somewhat of a vacation.

Oh I forgot to tell you all something funny........My urologist said I couldn't have sex for 10 weeks. Today, my hubby said it's 6 weeks and maybe I should call the doc b/c he's certain the ob/gyn doc said 6 weeks. I replied to my hubby that I am not going to call the doc and ask, "Can I have sex"!!!! lol.......Men!!! I agree with my hubby 10 weeks is a long time but too bad for him... He wrote the 10 weeks for a reason and he is a doctor!!! Believe me, I want to also, not just him..... But, this surgery has worked and I don't want anything to mess it up! Just thought I would share. This has been an awesome website.
